  1. Learn to tie knots and use tachyon:) I meant I haven't used it with sj bro, sorry for any confusion.
  2. not sj bro but its a nice rope
  3. Double braid has oth strength in core and cover hence double braid. Xtc is 16 strand so is cover strength. Ov is db class 2 and is core dependent. Technically armour prus is class 2 due to hmpe core but testing has found class 1 to be strong enough when used in a hitch configuration.Samson has great instructions on rope construction and relevant splices- if your not asking questions here, they are a great place to get info from
  4. Op polyester core. Ov vectran core. Both have the same jacket of aramid and polyester. Class 2 is for hmpe cords- tecnora, vectran etc.. As they are very slippery and so the chinese finger trap of a class 1 splice may not hold. 16 strands ropes are completely different in that the core is just used as a filler keeping the rope round under load- in the splice it does nothing hence the bet long bury of the splice. Kernmantle ropes generally have the strength in the core with the cover acting as a protective layer but also adding some strength. Some rope companies also call 16 strand ropes a kernmantle due to the core not being braided. Nice n simple:)
  5. Guaranteed to stand up after 2 years of abuse-bit the cheapest but handmade n bulletproof. Currently trying out a bigger version, and it's working well do far.
  6. Yep, there pretty special:)
  7. Treetools | Teufelberger Ocean Vectran 6mm friction cord
  8. There a million ropes that look the same! Your hitch is op, so class 1 is spot on.Ive spliced up the ov and will probably test the class 1 splice but tbh it's too thin to be used as hitch cord anyway.
  9. I think the green means it's certified for life support. Ov and op should be spliced differently, ov class 2 op class 1
  10. jus say what you want bro and ill send whatever it is down

  18. gets me how they came up with this splice in the first place!!
  19. i line all the marks up and then individually pull each strand to make sure they are all sat nice n snug. The tape makes doing the bury way easier for me otherwise they all get tangled up.
