  1. ha sorry bro-its just running bowlines either end with 2 prussics in the middle for adjustment. the centre cradle is just the spare unused section rope tidied up out of the way. The rig is attached to the rigging line via a steel crab.
  2. there saying 21-22x diameter, i go for 25x ( its just easier to do the maths in my head that way doing multiple differnt ropes all day). same for short fid-i use 10x dia they say 1/3 of long fid. this makes my fids longer but i do a finer taper to make up for it-does that make sense?
  3. nice shape bro
  4. one length of rope with 2 prussics for balancing. works for me:001_smile:
  5. flying must cost you a bit then bro...
  6. short fid 10x diameter so for 12mm rope its 120mm long fid 25x diameter so for 12mm rope its 300mm.
  7. yep, i was waiting for that dean....
  8. pulling the strands out..
  9. no this is just normal for double braid ropes-each strand is normally 2 seperate strands closely woven together. 16 strand is normally 1 strand going off in either direction. imagine the strands (in the photo) not leading away from the rope (i have positioned them like that) but crossing over each other and it should make more sense.hopefully. yeah ive got quite a few splicing pics tucked away here and there...........
  10. ropes go in your checked in luggage and hardware goes in the carry on-thats what i have always done and never a problem. i probably fly with my gear once a month
  11. 5 4 5 4- you remove 1or 2 strands going left and going right.it depends on the rope construction.
  12. the strings are 4m long(each section had 3 or 4 strings) and they came from a splitter system in the centre with i think 16 strands feeding off. attached to the tree using zip ties as only up for 48hrs. Strings that are much more than 4m long become a real pain to install as getting the spacings becomes hard to get accurate. We've got some that are 25m long and i hate setting them up and de installing them.
  13. if your on spikes working the stem down i reckon the sj would be ok for sure-its not like youd actually be climbing on it much
  14. Helped install lights for another event-Art in The Dark -over the weekend. Forgot my tripod so blurry pics but hopefully the idea still works. Great seeing the trees being appreciated by everyone in the city and also a dark unwelcoming park coming alive at night time.
  15. led lenser: 160 lumens v scurion :1400 lumens!!
  16. Products - Access Gear scroll down to the scurion 1500 head torch ridiculosly bright head torch-pretty much gives you daylight at night time. very expensive but it laughs at the myo
  17. yeah bro, in my mind at least:)
  18. recoverable-comes back when you retrieve the cambium saver/rope guide etc.. retrievable-comes back when you need it at any time. Makes sense?
  19. yeah i always got told it was the same but it def feels different. good rope though but i prefer tachyon tbh
  20. brilliant.how much did ya charge him brown?
  21. this is an adjustable footlock prus. based on the "godfather of rope splicing, mr richard hattier" uni tether. This allows you to fl up to the union (or close as poss, which can still be quite a distance) and then shorten with your full body weight in it. can then be used an adjustable cambium saver/redi etc..
  22. heres a few bro... recoverable retrievable set as a rope guide thingy choked with 3:1 setup-i find this really good on the sketchy limb walks but of course no good if your not going back to it
  23. needles in x over..
  24. HC and pantin. brings out the best of both of them.
  25. Starbucks? seriously? you need to find a proper coffee outlet mr blair...
