  1. There is a 100% static Kernmaster btw. It's called tech kern.
  2. You know I'm against static ropes bro I'm definetly coming to indo sooner rather than later but Hawaii has grabbed me this year
  3. The only website to listen to when it states for mandatory is nz immigration. If NZ immigration doesn't state it, it's not mandatory.
  4. Same with all the ropes bro, all the tachyons feel different, all the PIs feel different, all of the Kernmasters feel different etc etc etc. Hope ya well bro, when you off to indo?
  5. NZ basically gave up the right to sue people for an injury instead opting for the ACC scheme. Its what gives NZ a very relaxed attitude towards life, its awesome.
  6. the dyes make a huge difference!!
  7. personally i wouldnt touch stuff from ebay(and im sure that top_rope person has dealed under diff names in the past and been banned from AT)- go to a proper dealer.
  8. ACC- basically any accident is covered by the government and you will get paid 80% of your wages until you are ready to work again and all medical bills covered, incl doc, surgery, physio, rehab etc....
  9. you dont need insurance!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you will be a paid employee and so covered by the company and also EVERYONE is covered by ACC as soon as you eneter the country. Dont bother with work insurance.
  10. 4 regional events- top 5 from each go to final and have 5-6 wildcards available for climbers from out of town, etc....
  11. Silky make the blades without teeth especially for comps
  12. Are you after climbing boots or steel toe cap and chainsaw protection bro?
  13. If the UK is a tiny nation then how does NZ do it??? But good post peter
  14. Are those boots for climbing in?
  15. If nz can have 4 regionals I can't see why UK doesn't have 4 at least!! Would make it a lot more attractive to get newcomers involved. How does the UK champs work if you don't have to qualify?? Just rock up and climb?
  16. Sorry bro but it's stupidity like that that enables diseases to get Into the country. Please don't try and ruin a very fragile ecology but advising stupid short cuts like that. If the gear is clean it won't get stopped when checked. I fly in and out with my gear all the time.
  17. with no offense to ArbTalk- youll learn more at a comp actually asking climbers about systems and watching them, having a go than asking a million questions online.
  18. in general, do employers get behind the staff competing? or do they put people off and say its just tarts with fancy gear?
  19. No offense taken bro!!! I think the difference here is that it's seen as a big social thing that enables all the climbers to catch up and hang out. It's also very well supported by company owners and they actively encourage there employees to attend.
  20. Just so re elastic is under a bit of tension holding the hc up bro
  21. Not mine bro but mine is exactly the same.
  22. I also agree that most masters climbs are pretty damn boring to watch...
  23. I've worked with MOG a lot- your current champion and he is one of the quickest tree workers going from handsaw to crane to removals. I've worked with Scott, current world champion and he is possibly the quickest working climber I've ever seen. I think saying that most comp climbers are crap on a saw is total rubbish and just a screen to hide behind.
  24. This is the feedback that the powers that be need. Why are "90%" of the industry not interested in the UK yet here it draws a lot of people? What are the cultural differences? Is it that the comps arent fun enough? Too many rules? Elitist? Boring? I think these are the important things for the ITCC to know about to improve .
  25. Okay, I don't know the terminology but the people who the run the event.
