    Suggestion.

pic areas a good idea, i had an idea today of a pic of the week. where we have to post 1 pic of a reduction that we have done that week which could then be ripped apart by fellow members. then i looked at the pic of the reduction i had to do today on a pop and thought overwise...
  2. its a forum thats what happens. i wouldnt post a vid with a back cut like that tho.
  3. i had the day off to. got some bits from the local suppliers and going to change chipper blades later. hate the rain.
  4. always wear gloves. when i first started i slipped and had to put seven stitches in my finger. make sure you round the depth gauges off, dont make them square. get a vice. i always use guides, makes it easier.

    budget ground saw

thats a good price, but im only looking to spend around the 400 mark. can you fit a standard chain on these makita saws? i see the gauge is different.
  6. out of all the users how many people use this site on a regular basis? id expect all the main users have donated?

    budget ground saw

the dcs5000 makita looks interesting and is a good price but im not sure if its got the power im after. its more like a stihl 26 then say a 36/44. id like it to run a 20" comfortably. the husky has caught my eye

the manual doesnt tell you how to take the carb apart.
  10. im looking for a saw with a 20" bar but cant afford a 44. anyone got any ideas?

    ripped?

i cant afford it either. had that saw pinched so had to get spare working. 75 quid later and im wondering if ive been had. saw doesnt work still. choke is stuck, they said they would fix it as it wasnt stuck before service. i just got a new saw and felt pissed off for a few weeks.
  12. people are thinking about using veg oil as fuel cuz of diesel prices not to save the planet. but thats a very interesting fact. ive always believed that a water powered engine would arrive, but then ive believed alot of crap in my time.

    ripped?

i was charged 75 quid for my 200 to be serviced and have carb cleaned out. is that a fair price?
  14. im sick of doing reductions on trees that have been butchered. the boss says take it back to old cuts. that sucks.
  15. i wish there was an alternative. im pissed off with their rubbish carb.

  19. can you put rope in a tumble drier? i wash my rope when it gets really soiled. i normally daisy chain it and then put it into a pillow case after one of my lowering ropes somehow got destroyed after a wash.

    Help

the pricks took 2 saws off me last month. tree surgeon are targetted
  21. im going to get one of these harness at some point. the butterfly 2 sucks imo, legs loops get loose easy and cut into your legs.
  22. your rate for groundwork is 100-120? that sounds high to me. round by me its £60 for groundworkers and 100-150 for climbers.
  23. i started with 3 turns and 4 wraps(thats 2 on each side) now im on 4 turns as 3 was slipping.regardless of that i still think its a long hitch.
  24. ive just started climbing with the hitchclimber and a vt. i love the hitchclimber but i think that the vt is too long and im finding it a ball ache when i want to make smaller adjustments when climbing. a smaller hitch must make this easier.
