  2. 20 long years now all LA employed i,m 39 today and had a chainsaw ticket for a couple of years before that doing countryside work. god i feel old
  3. winch and cable unless used for lifting or lowering does not need checking for loler but would still need checking under puwer pantin and ascenders are a grey area imo as they should not really be used to support person all should be backed up or used to assist ascent but we check ours gadgets and strops and metal strops mallions and slings could be added to list. In all fairness everything you may have in your climbing bag or may use for climbing or all lowering kit should be included
  4. we wont let the zurich man touch our kit although we are getting pressure to let him he does hiab, tractor ,winches , slings and chains. They do the fire service kit so ought to know a fair bit but i do work stuff and he reconed it would only take him an hour or 2 to check and record 8 complex kits If he checks your kit and gives you a written report i would say you are complying although you should have knowledge of kit you are checking.I would not check a mewp or telehandler ect

  8. my alternator went on my chipper and after pricing round local ended up buying a brand new one of the dreaded EBAY for £60 less than buying local that included delivery and they can post it faster than local suppliers can get one and its come from an alternator shop with guarantee as well
  9. my choice would be a 40cm sling thin dynema larks footed to them either singular doubled ect and clipped to me with a 3 way more versatile and if loading on your rope can be kliemheisted in your splice side if that makes sense

  11. any details of whats to come am very interested in your boots had at least 4 pairs of lavaro persoally and always liked them as did other team members and would hate to get something else in the meantime so go on give us a clue or a sample or photo pm if desired

  14. nice lightweight boots that are nice and flexible have always loved the lavaro,s and am looking to return to them even though you can cut the toe cap the rest of the boot is similar in protection to all the others IMO and how many of you wear A,s when you know c,s are required or if not required they are safer. though am open to suggestions

  23. not sure on them but klien ones have locktite on them so a little heat and they come out easy peassy lemon squissy
  24. you should try burning logs mate its a log burner not a sh1t stove
  25. please dont let this take this thread down the wrong road. was he QUALIFIED to to what he was doing was his kit loler compliant was he experienced enough to tackle the job just a thought
