  1. I think you will like that splitting maul I got the splitting maul and the large splitting axe the later is the one i use most !!
  2. the rivet are a bit thinned and tie straps are beveled ,,, but this is not an "extreme" race chain but it runs good !! The chain is not built by me but by Dave Neiger "Big Dave" a saw builder from USA if remember correctly, I got it from him about five years ago
  3. Look at the "front" tooth and you will se what i mean
  4. You stone the side of the tooth from the leading edge and down on the side
  5. Only on real race chain but never on a workchain though im sure a work chain would benefit from it mostly cause i don't own a grinder Oh btw you get a good "feel" in your hands when using the guide i did freehand a 15" .325 Stihl RS with good results ! The guide is not sold in stores in Sweden yet and i doubt it will be !!
  6. After i got the Atop guide i run square on all 3/8 chains except were i know it is iron and junk in the trees ! For bore cutting, bucking and felling the square is superior in smoothness and speed in my opinion !! If you get the chance to try a sharp square filed/grinded chain then do it, it's very "fun" to work with
  7. The new Atop True square use a real "square file" and work very nice I think
  8. The clock stops and starts beteween every cut so look at the cookie number and you will see that it cut a fair bit faster with square filed.

    ms 361

dito on the smaller saw like 346xpg or 260 the 346 is what i have used of the two and have run a 20" bar on it nothing i would do every day but it pulls it fine if you are a bit gentle with it open up the muffler on it and it will do it better yet !!! If you go with husky stay away from Etech the cat muffler steals power !!!!
  10. Got a friend who has used the timberking for about a year now and is very very happy with them and they will be my next boot when my "waldlaufer" dies
  11. They have a fullrange of processor bars Very common in Sweden and should be available in the UK as well !?

    aspen 2

Husky and Stihl sells Aspen with there saws here in Sweden and i have seen it in Germany too, just different labeld cans so there should be no warranty issues with it !? Theocus I think you should only use Aspen if you used it in the saws from the start when new, otherwise it solve residues from the homemade mix like carbon build up and such .
  13. put an 8t rim on the saw if your going with a shorter bar, got a 16" for my 372xpg and it's super fun to work with having that setup
  14. Were in Sweden do you work ?
  15. A rope is hard to beat and is what i use when i want extra saftey, but you can never have to many tools i think
  16. It can be used on rather swampy ground, but when it sinks to deep and to easy i use a limb with approx 7cm diameter and a length of 25cm , to long and it will snap right of but with the right length it works good as a sinking brake
  17. There are arrows in the bottom of the guide that should point forward when is put on right, the best guide out there if you use husky or oregon chain And the gudie should have a backward slope when it sits on the bar/chain. hope it helps a little.
  18. Some of them (most of them i think), the rest is made in norway. the laminated ones has tiny rivetheads!? on the side of the bar if they come from norway. Have seen test like this made on other forums were the 95vp has come out on top as well, personally i don't use the pixel/95vp set up as it's not as tough as regular .325 chain. And to have the most out the pixel/95vp chains you need to use the bars made for it (Pixel=Husky Microlite=Oregon) othervise you risk to the beeing thicker then the chain Just some blal bla bla from me ,,,
  19. Can you post a video of your saw running ?? would be fun to see how it runs I got a woodsported 346xpg and 372xpg myself, wicked fun to run them http://www.youtube.com/user/Swekipp
  20. I got one of them, and it's handy for pushing trees over that has backlean and to secure tress from pinching your bar. I have used it on tress that have been 60cm dbh and 20m tall with heavy backlean and it has worked flawless so far. It works very good oon smaller diameter trees that has allot of backlean and can't wedged. But it can not replace wedges, I look at it as another tool in box (Heavy backlean = next step would have been ropes)
  21. Meindl got a model named Timberking that is really rugged and comfy could worth checking out, and its a class 3 protection boot They will be my next boot when my waldlaufer wears out !!
  22. I think i read of people who has changed the oiler out to a 440 oiler, the 361 is very economic on the oil :
  23. A of my friends use that machine and both are happy with them, one even own ten Franzen grinders Franzen-Maschinen and still he is happy about that little Markusson
  24. yes Ax man can be bought as a dvd and in august Heli loggers is supposed to hit the market as a dvd the best logging show i have seen
