  1. We have no issue with TW, our 250 is great, and our old 190 is running well since its extensive service at orange plant. Came down to value for money. The TW350 cost more! and it was orange.. The Vermeer is also lighter.
  2. Picked up our BC 230 xl from Vermeer. Thought I'd show it off! Liking the way the yellow and green match our company colours.. Our TW250 will probably be up for sale or exchange on arbtrader when I get a minute.
  3. As a recent AAAC's I would be miffed if an "affiliate contractor" got on the web site or to use a logo.. But I don't think you are planning to do this. The term "affiliate" makes it sound official, "working towards" is less likely to cause offence. My issue is that mrs miggins wouldn't know the difference. Is there a proposed cost? There would have to be some minimum standards and some sort of max time frame..
  4. Iveco Daily 55S17W 4X4 Crew Cab Tipper/Box 5500 kgs gvw 170 bhp Euro 5 | eBay
  5. Same as a crewcab transit then.. I had a subaru sumo van many years ago, put big tyres on it and it was great fun. Just long enough to sleep in and could get me to the top of hills for hang gliding.
  6. This thread comes up often on here as you might expect.. The interesting thing to me is that rates don't appear to have changed much in 5 years... But the cost of living has... http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/general-chat/8384-article-research-how-much-do-you-charge-days-work.html
  7. It has changed so much from ten years ago, not all bad. I was asked how much I earned self employed, they never asked for accounts or anything... I just made up a number... I wasn't even working at the time..
  8. Can anyone recommend one in the East midlands? Or a provider who will come to us. I have 5 guys to do it..
  9. I use a snow shovel, we always have them on site for clearing up and the head is to big to go through our 10 inch machine.. works great.
  10. The company paying your bills doesn't win! If you are only win the work because of a backhander, the manager is stealing. A bit of advice is OK but anything beyond that is wrong IMO..
  11. Big difference between a back hander and a finders fee, IMO. A finders fee, where someone gets you to quote for a job that you wouldn't have got is OK. A backhander, where a employee of an organisation takes some cash and gives you work is in my opinion well out of order and probably illegal. I have heard rumors that this happened on a local housing corporation contract, we used to operate. Really bugs me when I see the poor works being done probably at a high price too...
  12. I have a site clearance job in leicester city, could either do with somewhere local to dump chip probably 15-20 truck loads over a couple of weeks.. Or less and we'll take half back to our yard.. Or Someone with a loader who would be able to push it up a couple of times during the works and then load an arctic.. [email protected] 01332875869
  13. Do you regret selling it to us? We have made the back a bit higher and have a full length tool box that works well. It also looks better green.
  14. Pics... A thread is always more interesting with photo's..
  15. We are currently still looking at replacing our TW 250, which is a great chipper. We have tried the TW 350 the Vermeer BC230 xl and the Bandit 90xp (I think). All were good machines ... Front runner in my mind at the minute is probably the vermeer. Waiting to see a jensen..
  16. Ours wallows like a boat if fully loaded..
  17. Ditto. Ours has a wide cab, loads of room, tows 3.5 ton. Amazing turning circle. Carries weight well.
  18. Where did you get your monthly tips?
  19. I paid by card, so the bank said I could not stop it! I thought that was safer then direct debit... I have since realised, it was an old card as I broke mine luckily.. Anyway they can't take the cash..! But a quick google of the company finds nothing but BAD reviews and warnings.. I guess I only got the invoice when the card was rejected... I am now expecting threatening letters if other internet posts are anything to go by. Good idea to replace your card regularly. I might start doing that as it is easy and free. Last time I did it I think I even carried on with the same pin..
  20. Don't go near!!! Sneaky, cheating......! Signed up for some advertising on the back of a local indian restaurant menu. Thought it was worth a try. It wasn't! Didn't have a call in the 2 years. Forgot about it, then get an email telling me it is rolling into year 3. Now two years ago I signed an agreement for two years but on the back point 14 in the small print is that if I don't cancel the order within 12 months in writing by recorded delivery it will roll on. My bank says it can't stop the payment! I am seething!!
  21. If it's shiny Ben will want it...
  22. I am very fond of ours, but unless I have to go off road or use the winch I'd rather take the 6 ton iveco or 3.5 ton isuzu. Especially if towing a big trailer... The loaded LR 130 with our 2.2 ton chipper is horrible while the Iveco and Isuzu are fine.
