  1. Now that's just making me cry! Any thoughts on the big ferrari's?
  2. £40 if oversize ( >12"). £45 straight and good for the processor.
  3. Wise words Tom, hp ain't it all. It definitely a balance of weight, features and hp that have led me to where I am now.
  4. Tom, I've found that my iseki 40 hp has the grunt for a 4 ton skid winch but can't drag what it'll pull in. Found similar when I borrowed a 50 hp bcs machine. Even worse if there's an uphill involved (and there's a few round me!). The extra grunt will make putting a good turn on the back or a 4-6 ton forwarding trailer. The "larger" machines come with better spec on diff locks, top speed, are still viable on a trailer behind the pick up, more weight to resist being pushed around by the load and I'd rather work a larger machine gently than thrash the canines off a smaller lighter built machine.
  5. Cheers guys, have looked at seymours site,Mmmmm Fendt, but not what I'm looking for, will give them a bell to see what's in the yard. Kilworth are on the radar, closer to me and well worth a try,Ta for the names and numbers.
  6. Lamberhurst were the guys I was talking too, nice little vega95 it was going to be. Not come across Seymour -google is my friend.Cheers.
  7. No worries Jim. Callum sent me photos of it today. Still looking for a 80-90 hp unit. Looks like I might have to go abroad for it, don't you love it when it's simple.
  8. Hampshire alps! More like paddock grooming for ones pony, perhaps mowing the path from the big house to the lake. I know the guys further south sell them to the wine trade, he and in France ( coals to Newcastle ?) but hey if it turns a coin why not! The search continues
  9. Cheers for the heads up, interestingly its on Rikos page as a 68hp unit for an extra 2K, same pictures and everything.
  10. Guys, Have just found out that the tractor I've spent months waiting for, talking to the dealer about etc isn't gonna happen:crying: The dealer was taking it in part ex and the buyer has decided to keep it and have two:confused1: The long and the short is I'm after an equal wheel alpine, >75 hp, normal steering, usual stuff (bi-directional, ground speed / regular pto, 500/750 rpm etc etc) Nice to haves: Cab, hook ends on linkage, front linkage. Any ideas on where to start looking again (have tried Riko, Mascus & agriaffaires)? Would be less of a pain if I had not already been turning work away for the rigg on the basis of having it up and running by Xmas.
  11. Nathan do you know of any smaller driven crane trailers, with a good crane and float tires? Looking to go behind a larger hp alpine tractor so could be either tractor hydraulics or pto driven. Looking for 4-5 ton capacity.
  12. Try this, duck tape one side of split, glue the other. Have used it to repair, pants, boots, waterproofs. The item usually falls apart before the repair goes. https://www.google.co.uk/shopping/product/13481743352299249915?q=seam%20grip&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en-gb&client=safari&sa=X&ei=aWCtUMX6IKuT0QWOh4HwBg&ved=0CDsQ8wIwAQ#hsec:overview
  13. Clear yer box John! Pm waiting to go. Interested in a good load, but have restricted access at my end.
  14. Yellow peril came out with a small chain winch, just got to shore up and widen the track before the extraction starts. Looking at a big hp alpine, just need to put a suitable sized driven trailer behind for 8 wheel driven heaven.
  15. Black!?! Striking no doubt but not too clever on a dark night on a narrow and they don't see you.
  16. Is Oli C the proud owner of the newer one? The winch on the front looks good, until you over egg it and pull it off! Still waiting for my new toy, once it's here ill polish it and post.
  17. Nb these are not admissible in court ( if your security line is serious), but some of the more expensive are. Link, http://www.reconyx.com/hyperfire_detail.php?model=HC500
  18. I've been using some Reconyx Hc 500 for deer spotting. They are easily fixed to trees and a good protective metal case can be bought for them (helps with the inquisitive that think they can help themselves). Easily downloaded photos with date and time stamp, use SD cards and AA batteries. They do take reasonable shots (series of 3 each time it's triggered) at night but range is a bit limited.
  19. Where in our fine county? Options include Graythwaite sawmill or Lakeland coppice products, both in south lakes, Alexandra sawmills or Danny Frost in the north. Pm if you need contact No's.
  20. Pm sent with contact info, not best placed but he might know someone up your way.
  21. Get a tank hodge, that new toy of yours is gonna need feeding! Got my tank filled last year at 69 ppl for 1500 L. Plus 2000 of kero meant I got a better price for the both.
  22. I guess from your name your north of the border? If your in the borders area I can pass on a contact for the FMO trg & assess. I've just jumped through similar hoops plus my purpose built 8 wheel drive forwarder, wasn't too bad as there's a lot of common info in the base units and activity units.
  23. Andy, These guys are worth a call, based in Penrith. I had about 60 bags off them to cover a summer contract I was short for. Even sorted a brick wagon and drag as I didnt have off load capability where I needed the wood. http://www.lakelandlogs.co.uk/wholesale.asp Dave
