  1. Talking of Anna's pictures - look at this one. Ain't it a peach. Oh and Andy. I was born in Ely! and I've been back several times to end up buying things mistakenly!
  2. Andy, I beg to differ, only the display models that went to the Antipodeans were fitted with the chinese bearings, I understand that those that came here were modified to accept the double spherical roller bearings as used in the rail industry. But only because they had stocks of them left over from the aborted project that was painted gold instead of the chromed version that I mistakenly purchased whilst on holiday in Ely.
  3. A friend of mine has had two GreenMech stumpgrinders and his large trailer stolen off site in Solihull yesterday. A box of spanners, spare tips, a 357 and blower also went. Model/Serial numbers for the grinders are STM25.18 #1090L (pedestrian grinder with Arbor Plant head) and STM500 #1275M hydraulic sweep grinder fitted with a new 28hp diesel engine. Keep your eyes open please.

    Old logging

I love those old films. I've a picture somewhere of my Grandad as a young man felling by hand before the first world war. My Uncle set hisself up in business with a pushbike, felling axe and single cross cut and set off to clearfell 27 acres of Poplar a mere seven miles from home! Another Uncle died from injuries after falling out the cab of Chev Quad gun tractor that he converted to a timber crane in the late '50s. Argh! the days before HSE, when men worked hard for fun, drank bitter, smoked fags and ate beef dripping sandwiches all without complaining.
  5. Phil, how's things going? Is it true Redwood have got you on a commision only basis. Your a brave man. give us a ring 07774 282481

    Cheers

  6. For Sale in Wellington. May I go and lie down? this is both exhausting and exciting - the mere thought of a gold plate shafted model for sale in Wellingtons!
  7. Mars landing? Crikey, but I do prefer the Milky Way stairwell when applying mine! But when the resto is finished I'll give it ago, anyone tried the Curkly Wurly cellar?
  8. Is that a photo I saw of the four in your big shed mate, if it is, then I must have the japanese version - you know, the ones that were miniaturised when they also did that job on the twin battery Motorola brick phone. Plus I could not see any chrome on the long one in the middle, has that suffered from the same problem as mine or has it worn off with constant missuse?
  9. My Rodeo is three years old, has done 170k miles, one its second set of tyres and gets between 360 and 480 miles to the tank (26-35mpg). Ultra reliable, comfortable blah blah blah, but 4x4 trucks are dear to own if you don't need 4x4 or towing capabilities.
  10. I got a copy of the minute of said AGM and I'm devastated! I'll just have too keep looking for a replacement. If you see two, thats twice the price.
  11. Nah thanks, I've still got two int garage, the wheel fell of one and the chrome went off tother. Hell of a ride when they were new, but I found that the re-torqorating toggle washer on the big flappy flange always pinched in the sunshine!. Perhaps the internal castellations needed replacing. Anybody else get that effect?
  12. Nice set up there, do you worry about inducing localised heat thro lack of suds?
  13. I got to hedge pigs living in my garden, I hope they don't give the kids or my cats a bunch of fleas!

    Jokes???

The sex with the missus has been boring of late so she went and purchased a dildo. She tells me it's shaped like a carrot. How ironic, her fanny looks a Donkey yawning!
  16. I always tried to look out for the lads who worked for me and on the whole nobody took the rise. However, you are in business for yourself and your family, if HE wants to jeopardise his future through drinking and driving and you income then he needs to make amends. Roof, food, new van etc all have to be paid for out of your profits not his salary, which is fundamentally wrong. Ask him if you can have your money back and start all over again.
  17. It is a GreenMech Eco TMP, a six inch machine thats mounted close to the boxer for weight reasons. I was involved with the testing and to be honest it went well enough. In any chipper, more horse power is a bonus but it was adequate in the circumstances. The Boxer is a well made tool that is very adatable for a variety of tasks including a small chipper.
  18. Well done my auld. Keep up the good work, but don't tell me I stink of fags - I know that allready and I smoke!
  19. Ask them to do your garden or paint the windows or something and you'll soon found out how loyal a family you have. Totally agree, I'll come when my time allows or you can pay like every bugger else!
  20. A customer of ours had his "lincmaster" cut threw by a portable grinder so please bear in mind that they are only mild still and can be cut off quite easily.
  21. For stock proof fencing we only used three strands and never nailed to a tree as that can ruin future value of that crop. Pig netting for both pigs and sheep. Good luck with your battle, he sounds an obnoxious peice he really does.
  22. Martin, sorry to hear you've been robbed. Hope you get it back and the perps die and slow lingering death while we laugh at them!.
  23. While I feel sorry for the victims of such roque traders, I do ask, why they got an "unkown" to do the work after a leaflet drop. Why don't people ask their neighbours or the LA for a recommended company? Why don't people ask for second quote? and why does the law and government allow these traders to continue their policy of trading on their standards and not those of the rest of "acceptable society".
  24. Almost correct. Turners originally imported them from Italy and rebadged them as Turner 70, 80 whatever. Graham Satchwell left taking the deal with him and we decided to design our own machine. The first few were based around the Gandini but we soon changed all that about. Graham Satchwell sells the Gandini range under the name Chippers International and can be found at Snitterfield near Stratford on Avon.
