    MOT Time.

Bin thur, dun that! Had 5 of them when I was on the tools. LDVs and Transits (2 and 4x4) all threw up problems come the MOT day!
  3. Today I had my Izusu Rodeo put thro the second MOT. Its done 205k miles in 4 years and at the first MOT it failed on rear spring hangers and pins, not bad for 164k in three years. In the last year it has covered another 40k but the pins/hangers have come up as an advisory. Anyone else had the same issues. Its all motorway miles with plenty of towing.
  4. To many, they were an acquired taste. I had one that was a Michael Dalrymple creation over 15 years ago. It chipped! I don't know much about the current range or their supplier. PX values are not the strongest. Are you looking for new or at something used. Give Arboreater a ring about spares availability if its used.
  5. There is something about slippery nipples that appeals to blokes:sneaky2:
  6. I lay in bed this morning listening to my new neighbours pitbull type of thing barking. Once every second. Its Sunday. It was 07:30. Its the same in the evening. I do not condone the ill treatment of animals in any way. But I do sympathise with those people who have to endure the discomfort of animals by the uncaring, ignorant owners. I beleive that animal ownership is a priviledge that should be denied to those who own an animal to boost their own ego, thos who don't or will not look after them properly and that each pet should be registered, licenced and vetted for behavioural problems. My daughter had her face and head chewed by a relatives dog. I had previously told that relative that taking a half trained (hare coursing)Lurcher and having it as a house pet was wrong. I was proved right but the concequences were awful.
  7. Good luck with the search Josh. I noticed on earborist that Connaughts (fountains) were looking for about 150 new staff in the East Anglia region if you don't mind the move.
  8. The top picture is Rhian Bray and the bottom on is Jason, one of our service lads who hates having his photo taken.
  9. Every now and then, Iread thro these for a chuckle. Is that sad?
  10. I delivered a Wee Chipper to Butlins at Skeggy today. I did originally take it earlier in the week, but whilst I was there someone chucked a noggin of flint into it:thumbdown:.Made it rattle a bit - took it home, took the cassette out and swapped the blades over and reset the shear bar and returned it to them. Job's a good 'un
  11. Well spotted, it is indeed a chaff cutter. I found a less well preserved one outside the Weslyen Chapel in Castletown when I went for a walk thro the place after taking the kids up the hills some years ago.
  12. Sorry for the guy, hope he gets it back soon or the insurance pays up quick.
  13. TBH, the best thing is phenolic flooring really. Replacing with checker would be dear and slippery when wet, glassonite (GRP laminate) would not be strong enough. If the floor has lasted couple of years, then hey ho, you've done okay. Try parking it on a slope were water can run out the back and keeping the bed free of stones etc when your loading the digger on it.
  14. We made our own using a suitable diameter tube and two bits of 10mm round bar. We made them so that you could push up as well as pull down. Not CE rated I know but it was over 10 years ago! We also used to buy the Park pruners as they were signifcantly cheaper and remove the threaded fixing and drill for the poles. We also used to make them fit the intermediate poles as well as the top poles.
  15. Nigel or Ian Fletcher at Fletcher Stewart would give you an honest appraisel of the TS (Tunnisen) range of machinery GreenMech do a sub 750kg machine with a 34hp turbo Kubota, a 6"x9" gob and the whole lot is on a turntable! Click the link and look at the one-line brochure.
  16. Should have taken computer studies, business management and a science, then gone to college on day release to get the qualifications that I should have had to prove that I was a tree surgeon/arborist so that people did not have to take my word for it!
  17. Had a large Oak to fell on the outskirts of Leicester and we were having the timber for firewood. Gobbed it and it came over nicely - then reared up on some limbs so that the butt end was about waist height off the floor. Bonus! reversed the Transit under it and cut off the first length so that it was as wide as the truck and about 4 foot high. Chocked it and sent the driver back to the yard - when he returned, the rear lights wer all bust about. As he rolled the butt off over the rear, the truck reared up wheelie style and smashed the rear into the yard surface, then slammed the front down with a fair whack without doing any further damage. I reckon the lump weighed about 2000kgs!
  18. Good photography John, when are you turning pro?

  22. I bet he is really proud of himself and he should be too, a handrail roll cage, no suspension mods, no snorkel and no taste. What was he thinking he was doing?
  23. My retired PArents loved it:sneaky2:
  24. Congrats and well done to you all. You will have to take a "calm" pill every now and then. 9lb14oz! ouch. Mega pain.
