  4. I've sold them between £1.50-£2 per rod as they last longer than the crappy ones.

  9. We spend £100 per week on average for the four of us, but some times it's been near the £150 mark.
  10. As a person who turns wood it's probably worth alot of money if dried properly which is alot of hassle without the right kit (it splits like hell if not), so i would log it. Rob D might have it off you if it can be milled?
  11. We've had loads of them move to plock court by me and in the paper it said there not moving as there on holiday.

  16. I'm part of a coppice network and they get funding for up to 75% of the equipment and you pay the other percentage. I think it's a hell of alot of paperwork tho, I will email my friend who has been in the network for longer than me and see what info i can get if you want, I should be seeing him in the next few days so i'll ask.

  18. Yes it is coppiced chestnut we get it from two local woodlands, its abit overgrown but were trying to reinstate the coppicing.
  19. Thanks everyone for comments so far, there was another fencer down the bottom of the field knocking in 3" tanalised posts and rails on his way past us he pulled a face of disgust. Not everones cup of tea i know but i like it, at least i won't have to go back in a few years time because it's rotten.
  20. The wood hasn't been treated but it will easily last 8 years there are alot of tannins in sweet chestnut so doesn't rot as quick. We split the timber ourselves by hand with metal wedges and splitting axe.
