  1. well i do a more many manley one which is more thicker, but the girly one is fine.
  2. If your wife can plait hair it's the same, Get some green sweet chestnut and peel off a layer of the bark (i find a potato pealer is the best). After that get a knife and remove the rest of the bark, Cut thin strips with knife and weave or plait- at end weave back through were you started. voila one bracelet:001_smile: OR option two the easy one is measure around your wifes knuckles send me size and i'll make one When using potato peeler the metal reacts with the wood and makes it darker, thats what gives you the two colours.
  3. No I didn't really look at that one i was to busy talking and when i wasn't doing that i was drinking:blushing:.
  4. A goblet turned out of plum that split so i drilled some holes and weaved sweet chestnut bark in the holes, something a bit different.
  5. Some more pics from show today, there's a pic of my wifes wrist with a bracelet that i made out of sweet chestnut bark and weaved it.

For chopping boards i would say apple or pear - oak also works well all needs to be nice and dry tho, woodturning i'll try anything (will post on woodturning thread what i've done with a plum goblet. Trellises sweet chestnut is the way forward:001_smile: Might see if i can get hold of a mini portable lathe

  17. Monday 6.00 start you will be on £2 per hr depending on experience, It will be a 3mth trial and benifits are free woodturning lessons, Free charcoal and a bacon butty at dinner time. also for the scottish person (you no who you are ) A magners.

  21. Yes we do the fancy panels but IMO hazel outside won't last very long especially on the ground. Spoke to a customer at the show today and they said they have had their post and rail sweet chestnut fencing up for the last 25years and it's starting to rot at the bottom.   24. They are split using a froe and usually you get 2 halves but depends on how twisted and knotty the wood is. I'm taking orders:biggrin:
