I did put this reply to your other post Hello and welcome, you can get some wood off Rob D on here PM him i think the least he will send is 25kg and postage is about £8 ish, youwill need to mail him to double check tho or you can look on ebay they do abit just put in woodturning blanks they are slowly creeping up in price tho.
  2. If you used metal wedges and tried it it would work , if you could find a fault or split in the top of the wood it would be easier. We still use the old fashioned way of doing this to split logs in half.
  3. Sounds like you need a jack hammer, big angle grinder and a big sledge. or What me and a crazy swedish man done is drill holes in log as deep as possible then push dinamite and detonators through said holes and poke with stick once finished cover log with mat made out of tyres, connect wires to control box wind up, press button and BOOM. Controled explosion:thumbup:
  4. Stihl climbing, Was husky but don't make them like they use too so edging towards stihl still love 372 tho, bigger saw stihl:001_smile:
  5. Just stick them up on here mate:thumbup1:
  6. I use my parting tool to put a groove in the face of the wood so when you put your gouge in it doesn't slip out and brake the edge (if it makes sense) If not i'll post pics if you want?? Not derailed If i can help or advise anyone i'll try ??
  7. There are lots of people about i see about 10 different companies in my area some good some not, there are also alot more people coming out of collage and the army are training soldiers who have finished there tours, so imo it's not going to get any easier. A few years ago everyone was told to get jobs in I.T now there's to many without jobs. I'm all up for competition but it becomes hard when you have to compete against people with no insurance etc etc. As said you get them in all trades tho but getting slightly better as some are heavier regulated.
  8. As i'm always posting pics of my work and product i have made for people, I thought i would put it all in one place First a spalted beech bowl
