  1. Out of interest, does anyone know why the RPA of multi-stemmed trees should be less than for single stemmed trees? The BS doesn't detail why the calculation is different - I wondered if anyone knew of any evidence that multi-stemmed trees have a smaller rooting area?
  2. Ouch - sounds scary Kev. Glad you both survived. Be careful man!
  3. I said cider press, not cider thirst. Do you really have a press though? Let's get it in action!
  4. Surely it's more realistic than showing the RPA going through the barrier?
  5. Ok cool. That's a lovely looking dog - is it a collie cross of some sort? I am hoping to get a dog soon so am on the lookout for good breeds.
  6. Nice pics - must have been nice to climb in the dry for once! Out of interest, what do you carry the figure of 8 for?
  7. I used Arbortrail/Arborcad for the first time this week using a PDA. I found it pretty easy to pick up and it seems like an extremely useful and time-saving tool.
  8. Ooooh! Looks nasty Jason - speedy recovery mate.
  9. Cheers dave - must confess that isn't me - just a photo I found while doing some fungi revision via Google image search that made me titter. My legs aren't as shapely as that.
  10. No need for ropes when you have fungi steps my man.
  11. A novel way to access the crown of a tree. The fungi are here to help us!
  12. I am sure you mean nothing by this Lee, but we all know that old hands as well as newbies get stuff wrong now and again. Fair play for posting Bish, sounds like a crapper of a day.
  13. Do you not find the curve a bit bulky? It looks massive!
  14. How's your Blackberry Steve? It's time for a new phone and I am considering getting the Pearl. O2 are doing some pretty good deals on them at the moment.
  15. Sounds good -would have liked to come along but can't make it due to revision needs and training schedule for OMM. Hope everyone has fun!
  16. Great vid Tim, you look like a smooth operator!
  17. You should be ashamed of that Ed.
  18. I found when I started tree work I lost weight and am definitely in better shape. I run to get a cardio workout though as work doesn't give you that kind of fitness...well, unless you are dragging brash up and down hill all day.
  19. Nope - that is just how I took it. I think the flash gives it that glistening slightly too colourful appearance.
  20. Could be worse news for the local drivers if you don't get the bugger down soon!!
  21. Might quit this tree work lark and become a fungal photographer then! The people I was with thought a) I was bonkers for taking pics of it and b) that is did look kind of alien-like. It is fairly disgusting I guess!
