  1. AKU croda is the only boot you need edit if your after a non protective boot
  2. should be with you tuesday:blushing:
  3. re pollarding riverside alders at the Mill at Gordelton Hotel and Restaurant 95% tip tied and rigged down as whole stems. regrowth stem diameter circa 6 inches so nothing had to be snedded out and could go straight through the chipper. regrowth circa 25-30ft. lots of decay in the tops around the base of the regroth, but had 2 pulleys sharing the load most of the time spilt the climbing with alex bacon sandwiches and tea served at 10 happy days
  4. paul, ive downloaded the form, but im yet to recieve my new membership number after i let my membership lapse:blushing:
  5. ive got a pair at the moment and they seem pretty good. they arnt in the same league as the stretchairs but for the money they cost, they are turning out to be a good choice. the protective patches seem durable enough and ive got used to the slighty tighter fit. ive dragged them round hedge reductions, a few oaks and a dirty great poplar and they are holding up well. you could buy alot worse imo
  6. the TO should/will come out to assess the tree under the statutory DDD notice so it shoudnt be a given
  7. its a footlocking strop not a foot loop for srt
  8. same as a compact retractable system would be ace
  9. Well I thought the food was great, and know of plenty of others that did as well. I don't mind spending a bit more for some proper food, and it was a refreshing change to not eat poor quality burgers and soggy chips. Plus the staff serving were great and in my opinion did a great job People seem to critasize what ever the AA put on
  10. identical setup to mine mate apart from my armour prus is spliced
  11. I have a black diamond haul bag and the metolius version and both are bomb proof
  12. An srt setup can cost less than that. srt and footlocking are the most efficient access techniques Tony. In competion people are often awarded points for thinking outside the box!! It doesn't mean it's the best technique
  13. You will be inefficient Tony as you are pulling 3ft to advance 1, where as il casually walk up on my srt system. You may beat me in a race through sheer determination and bloody mindedness but who will be more tired and as a result leas ready for the ensuing rescue
  14. It's a massively inefficient. Your pulling at least 3ft of ripe for every 1ft of ascent. Srt access then ddrt to the rescue
  15. so ive been wearing these oregon trousers, kindly sent by les for a few weeks now. my initial impression was that i didnt like the look of them, the orangey/pink tops of the pockets as a standout dislike for me and i wasnt much of a fan of the tougher material on the thigh or the way the tougher material around the bottom of the legs makes them sit funny. they do seem to be a bit of a strange fit as well. however they do seem to be wearing quite well. theyve sufferd various envrironments of abuse from disgusting conifer hedge topping to koala type climbing tall skinny reductions. but they do seem a little on the warm side though and a phone pocket would be good imo they arnt in the same league as stretchair but i dont think they are trying to be. for a cheaper budget i think these trousers may be value for money!!!!
  16. damm you sir:001_tongue: thats the reason i do it anyway:001_tt2:
  17. less chance of the piece just sitting on the closed face
  18. its got extra distance to drop over the centre of gravity befor the face closes..does that make sence
