  1. I'd say the customer got what he asked for...........
  2. Looks spot on to me, some customers really pee me off!!

  5. Sad but very very true! I was hoping we might have moved forward but I fear we haven't, imo we have stepped back 10 years...................... A colleague used to say, bread and butter work always has and always will be trimming and felling
  6. I fear that unless you're arb approved or ISO you won't get a look in on larger contract work, as we all know its mainly the larger firms who can afford to become AA approved or ISO accredited. I see can lots of medium to larger firms folding, lets face it lots of bigger firms can't compete with the small firm in the domestic market.....
  7. What direction do you see arboriculture heading in the next 10 years? where do you think we will be? how will firms operate? what services will we be offering? what size firms will prosper? what kit will we be using? your thoughts please....... This question was ''always'' asked by Mick, he asked anyone and everyone this question, today I'm asking for him....... I personally see big firms and micro firms operating , with no room for any firms in between, other than that I see very little change. When I say small firms I mean 3 men and a transit and for big firms 15+ employees. Your big firms will carry out most if not all LA and contract work and the small firms will undertake the vast majority of domestic work...... I also think small firms will have to diversify, I don't think we will have the luxury of doing tree work all the time
  8. I will never trust our government or believe a word they say again EVER after the last 20 years of lies and more lies!! poor health care and malnutrition is a bigger problem in Afghanistan and Iraq now, than ever it ever was under Sadam Hussein or the Taliban. In my book that's not what you call helping the people..
  9. Rupe is bookwork was left to me I'd be in prison lol I'm just fortunate to have a good secretary/book keeper/wife.............
  10. I'm registered and they don't stop me a penny, you can have it so you get the full amount owed, unless your a late tax payer etc etc.........
  11. News circled fast within our small arb community today, sadly Mick Dewhurst founder of Eastwood Tree Services passed away to today. Mick was well known in the arboricultural community all around the country. He, it's safe to say set the standard for tree work in East Anglia for many years! he was one of the pioneers of safe rigging and crane use in the UK. Mick was never afraid to take on ideas from all over the world, he owned the first stumpgrinders when the rest of us were still digging stumps out, he owned the first chippers in the area, and also the first Unimog, not only was he a local pioneer in machinery, he was the first to use Shigo pruning techniques, as already said he led the way for many years! and was an inspiration to all of us budding arborists in the area. Today is a sad day for our small community, my sincere condolences go out to his wife family and friends.............
  12. Personally I'd rather chip that nugget who invented CHAS and other silly stuff, instead of Chavs...........
  13. Good post, except society far beyond our reach and control created them, not the society they/we live in.............
  14. Haha I like that one.................
