  1. If its old and not worth a light, I suggest a 14lb hammer, it won't fix it but it will make you feel better when you smash it to smithereens
  2. looks like ''squidgy'' to me
  3. Damn right!
  4. I guess the proof is in the pudding, your landy has served you well, I didn't like my one, and i've read some real horror story's about the TD5, but then I have about clutches on Rangers , engines in Navarras etc etc My ultimate truck would be a Landcruiser truck, no doubt they have there problems
  5. thanks guys this is an interesting thread.........
  6. Best of luck
  7. I wouldn't touch a land rover with a barge pole, especially a TD5!
  8. With this cert will it allow you to join CAS or become an AA approved consultant? these two orgs have have the consultancy game sown up.
  9. You gotta love a burn up
  10. Ah yes, another course with very little chance of making ''wonga'' out of it in the real world...
  11. what is a PTI course? H&S? pre-planning? subsidence?
  12. Off topic here sorry, but I own a few acres [smallholding with barns and stables] I currently don't do anything with it. I was thinking of only using it recreationally camping on weekends, large family BBQ's etc, would this be ok in the eyes of the council? Also does anyone know what a ''registered smallholding'' actually means? can a small holding be registered? nowhere in all my old paperwork deeds etc or info held on land registry does it mention ''registered smallholding''.
  13. Fishing and boating.....
  14. Thanks for the link I think i'll order and 8x4 myself....

  16. Ford= fixed or repaired daily, I've had Fords never ever again!
  17. My brother in-law and family moved out three years ago, he's in Landscaping [runs his own business] she's a part time beauty therapist, he's brimming full of work, a few weeks ago he told my wife/his sister he'll never come back, and we must be idiots for not moving out. The move for him was easy TBH, he had a dead end job, that he hated with very little prospect or money. His 16 yr old daughter hates the place though and is coming home this summer probably for good! If I were you I'd go out for a reconnaissance visit, its the only way you'll know if its for you or not or you'll come home like me and live in ''shall we shan't we'' world for 20 years
  18. I had a kwaka 48cc the vibration was terrible, I won't be selling my '''Stihl''' fs550 in such a hurry
  19. you only get one life mate, and time moves very very fast
  20. I have the biggest stihl clearing saw/brushcutter fitted with mulching blade, and have been clearing brambles and blackthorn myself this week, you won't go wrong with the big Stihl FS 550, when clearing large areas blackthorn, rose and bramble you need all the power you can get.
  21. I had a Pocket boy, lovely saw, lost it in a bloody conifer hedge of all the hideous places to loose a good pocket saw............
  22. We only went for a year nearly 20 years ago, but yes I'm pleased I went, TBH if the exchange rate was still £1 to $2.50+ instead of $1.50 to the pound sterling, and the cost if living and house prices lower, I'd be back over like a shot ''I think''
  23. Wool and patterns are cheap on ebay Andy, can you cast on mate Nah seriously It'll take more than a bout of illness to keep Andy Collins I know down, this is only a minor blip mate, all the best, get well soon
  24. My wife's an Aussie citizen so are my kids, we could go at any time, but with the poor exchange rate, and ridiculous house prices, and cost of living in Oz, like you say is it really worth it! We did go over many years ago I kind of had a love hate relationship with the place.
  25. I have it on good authority ye clowns be back in this here parish!
