Fair enough. The more people that go through the comment process, the more likely that any change you seek will happen.

If you dont comment, dont moan.
  3. Good advice.
  4. Jon, give me a call tomorrow 12ish, 07969 960 450, and we can discuss.
  5. Westcon parts 01258 859101
  6. Nice 8110. I like Big Massey's, I used to have an 3680, and always liked them since.
  7. Solenoid is'nt pulling the spoolvalve back. On some, the return spool is held back, if you take the top off you can push it down manually. its usually held in place with a lagre circlip
  8. Promark bought out by Graveley bought out by Ariens bought out by MBco of wisconsin. Possibly Westcon machinery would have a parts manual, and probably parts, as they were the last Gravely dealers.
  9. Ditto that Tommer. I made myself ill being away:001_rolleyes:. Nice avatar pic BTW, not many 8 wheelers left in timber haulage.
  10. Matt - If it's a Low Voltage line, then you are fully within the law to work within 9 meters. if its a High Voltage line, then you have to be a minimum of 18 meters away. A shutdown is only required if its impossible to dismantle the tree without coming within 1.2 meters of a live LV line.
  11. Read the thread Liam.
  12. Ditto shrekie. hiezo would be the worst machine possible. :thumbdown:You want NO fines at all.
  13. Was it an old fire engine or somesuch? It did need a lot of power, he had a 350hp cummins on it, and it was bogging down on fatter pieces. Its the size of the chip for corrals thats critical, it needs to be 3"+ to drain properly. The only other machine is a well set up M30 Morbark, but the only 1 in he country is permanently in Norbord is Stirling.
  14. The only machine that will do that job is the big Laimet. There was a contractor running one on a truck based in Scotland. Whereabouts exactly in west Wales? I'm pretty westish myself
  15. That magazine was bedtime reading for me when I was in my early teens.
  16. Your probably right. How long do you think they would last on a high speed forum like this? It would be a bloodbath:001_smile:
  17. Nice avatar Le Moose. Nant francon valley?
  18. Why on earth does'nt the UKTC pay for some decent forum software? I cant stand trying to decipher those threads.
  19. Releasing the tension off the handle on the trewalla handle was always an exciting job filled with danger.
  20. There is also the occasional situation where you get a small business made up of 2 guys in a partnership. They only need PL as they cannot sue themselves if they are injured. The 2 guys I knew of who worked this way had good personal accident insurance, but I felt that they would have been better (cheaper) with a Ltd company and decent EL cover.
  21. Nah, it was pulling back the red lever, then jumping out and twisting the hubs to lock.
  22. It was later on that we started taking the brash away. 'whats that mate? you dont want us to burn off 6 tonnes of arb waste on your lawn?'
  23. The Germans expressed exactly the same kind of sentiments under the Weimar republic. Look where that ended up. Make no mistake. A government with the BNP would end up with with barbed wire, machine gun towers and concentration camps. And so what if Griffin is pointing out the ilegality of the Iraqi conflict? does'nt take a genius to do that. Over a million people attended the peace march in protest at the war. Did'nt see Nick Griffin protesting then...
  24. Heehee, Peter Bridgemans 'Tree Surgery'. It was the bible - guy doing a huge flush cut on the cover.. And while I remember, back in the old daze, if you were a trainee climber, your job was to climb up after the main climber and paint all the wounds with Arbrol
