    Climbing

I'll bring one of these -
  2. The mass buying of US sub prime lending by european banks did'nt help, especially as the loans were packaged as prime. I dont blame the war on 'terror' as a BIG factor in the current UK economic downturn, but it has'nt helped. Lets face it, we're reaping 12 years of having Gordon Brown in charge. He's the one who's driven economy growth on the back of inflated property values and borrowing. We have no core industry, exports or manufacturing in the UK. Most of our GDP is earned by the 2 square miles that is the city of London, the financial markets. We insure half the world now. And not much of that cash filters down.... Trouble is, we're in a position where the financial markets call the shots with the government. The pound stays high because with the death of the DueschMark, if you want to trade between dollars or euros, the pound is the centre benchmark. So for the forseeable future in the UK, expect the poor to get poorer, the super rich to get richer, and the rest of us poor sods will scrabble around for crumbs, paying for our burgeoning social state. Happy new year? Bah Humbug!
  3. I think it only applies to trees within Wyong Shire council.
  4. Steve, It may be your 'right', but your local plod have the 'right' to refuse ANY shotgun license they feel is not justified. Have you tried to apply for a licence lately...?
  5. Its the ONLY way you'll get approved, unless you have a smallholding etc, and can justify 'pest control'. Shooting clays is enormous fun though.
  6. Hahahaha.... Dont you just love the Second Amendment?

    High Scale!

Hey Carl, given your Avatar, I thought you would appreciate this.
  8. Its also good for the soul.
  9. I'm waiting on my dealers price list. I will let you know asap.
  10. well, I've seen them on tractor loaders, so a skidsteer would be just as easy.
  11. I got pulled on the motorway last week by mr plod. little chat and a £30 fine for having a duff numberplate. One of the things he did tell me was that the police are being told to target more agricultural equipment, and that VOSA is pushing for ALL tractors to be tested under the same rules as HGV's, aswell as all trailers needing there own number plate and test (again just like HGV's)
  12. I love the stream of conciousness type rambling derails we get on these threads. FWIW, my MIL is called Norma, and has fantastic assets. Vast tracts of land. Ahem.
  13. I'm yet to see something it could'nt split. Hardwood is no problem.
  14. Yes you could. I'll dig out a pic of one on a crane for you.
  15. Another http://www.hay-equipment.com/index.php/service/filme_downloads/lasco_spalter_kombi
  16. Mini excavator? I'm the new distributer for these... (Very very effective!) http://www.hay-equipment.com/index.php/service/filme_downloads/lasco_spalter
  17. I've built several - And I can tell you now its a pain! Your dealing with high hydraulic forces, and you have to have decent machined ram mounts, or you'll just tear them off. A trailer ram will not be suitable as it needs to be a two way action... My most recent is a table top (vertical) splitter, with the ram mounted inside the Box section - but I screwed up on the knife size and bent it. Having said that, its a good feeling building your own kit. Go for it, and if you need any specific advice, dont hesitate to ask
  18. Telhol, Try and resist from spouting on about stuff you know very little about... Vermeer make a large range of grinders, from from very small to large. They are based in Pella Iowa, where most of their products are sold, but the ownership is still Dutch, and their designs reflect that. Not sure what your designation of beastie is, but Vermeer's biggest machine is 102hp. big, but does not compare to the Carlton 275hp hurricane RS, the Rayco 275hp track grinder, or the new Bandit 400hp track grinder.
  19. Only cause it has a ported exhaust the size of a dustbin! Wait till mine is ported....
  20. Cameraman was a pillock. They were long back laterals, once they were off, I could drop the top out. I was using a tracked chipper to tension the line.
  21. I have a TP 200 as our daily user, and its a brilliant little chipper. Not a patch on the Farmi 260 though. The original 260 was designed just for logs, but the later model takes brash awsomely well.
  22. Speedlines have their place... http://video.google.co.uk/videoplay?docid=4754877700686320081&q=poplar+speedline&total=1&start=0&num=10&so=0&type=search&plindex=0
  23. Its pretty easy to straighten bar without heating it. Worst thing for wrecking bars is cuttting Rhododendron or Laurel. The stuff grows in such odd circles, itt traps and twist the bars.We did a contract once, hand cut 22 hectares of big laurel - went through about 7 bars in 3 months.
  24. the 160 is a fine little chipper - But I cant believe you have'nt bought a 260 yet. A brand spanker will only be £7k...
