  1. Ok, I knew that already:motz:,but it still has a merc engine gearbox axles etc. If you want to be picky, they're even badged as peugeot in France.
  2. Thats why I said 'TRUCKS'. although Merc do a 3.5t lwb gwagen, thats a very impressive pickup
  3. Nah. real trucks wear these badges... and the best small trucks wear this one -
  4. Yup. M'lady could spike up and down my back... :flute: On more mundane matters, is'nt it shocking how much chainsaw protection adds to the price of a boot? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/NEW-SIZE-8-9-10-MEINDL-DESERT-FOX-BOOTS_W0QQitemZ190173941440QQihZ009QQcategoryZ104027QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  5. Damn good work steve. Heres one I did a few weeks ago in the pouring rain. Had 9 phone cables going through it. what a pain of a job.
  6. He said look GOOD on.
  7. These boots should be randy enough for you
  8. land rover tdi engines whilst being a reasonable little unit, are not a patch on any engine wearing the three pointed star. Frans, why not just hunt up a G Wagen? or a 'proper' landcruiser? The toyota 4.2 diesel unit and tranny is awsome, many land rovers have been converted to that spec.
  9. Well, I've checked the articles of the geneva convention, and run it past my team of european human rights lawyers - I know it sounds henious, but inflicting austrailians on them is still legal.
  10. Haix used to be really good boots. quality slipped badly though.
  11. Bigger pic
  12. They look nice, but the colour's a bit gay. I like being a stealth arborist. I need a new pair of boots, might try a pair.
  13. Any Inline pumps are good for taking veggie oil straight. Have to be carefull though, as not all Bosch pumps are rotary. We have a little Vauxhall (GM) 4x4 and it has a bosch vp44 pump, renowned for breaking up under Veggie use. Why the 5 cyl 300 engine frans? you may find it a little gutless. was it just convenient? and what vehicle is it going in? I would be more tempted to use the OM602 turbo unit.
  14. This seems like a pretty good mog. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Mercedes-Benz-Unimog-1650_W0QQitemZ200172986961QQihZ010QQcategoryZ108848QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  15. Ship them off to austrailia I say.
  16. Mr Ed

    is it worth it?

Well they are stihls... Actually I have a 341 ( one of the few stihls I own) and its not a bad saw. I run a 16" bar with 3/8's chain and she runs really well. I have 2 357's , and whilst I love the power and feel, I'm less than pleased with the way all the little bits like throttle and deadmans handle and choke levers and stop switches and chain brake etc etc self destruct the moment you use them. Coming from years of faithfull 254 service, its a disapointment.
  17. BBC does produce some good telly. I'm telling you though, we live in the Panopticon society.
  18. Jim, al the 2.25's and 2.5's had lucas CAV pumps, the tdi's went bosch. Thats why its hard to run the older engines on SVO / WVO. Frans, what engine / vehicle / tranny are you trying to mate up? I have a 14000# merc truck with a 4 cyl turbo engine and 5 speed manual transmission.
  19. Both the 200 and 300 TDi are fitted with the Bosch injection pumps.
  20. 12 year old city and guilds for control of PUSWER. hope its still valid.
  21. I remember seeing that one with Mylesey. Did'nt it go to scotland? Here's the same chipper on something better able to handle it. I curse the day I sold this rig. That county is worth a fortune now.
  22. Looks like some pics of the '87 storm there. I like the grey GT harness in the first pic. I learnt to climb in one those.
  23. Orchestral Manouveres in the Dark - Organization last purchase was Richard Hawley's Lady's Bridge Anyone else into Richard Hawley? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynf0ERJVB9I&feature=user
  24. I have both, but always favour the 750mm steel ones, as the amount of times I've gone mental at a stupid driver who's just crushed my nice expensive folding sign make's me deppresed.
  25. Telhol, Like Rolla, I've owned nearly every type of commercial vehicle out there, and I have a pretty low opinion of transits. I think there best point is there's a lot of choice - but as a true commercial, I find them sadly lacking. If you'll search around, you'll see what I think of Unimogs aswell... and again, I'm talking from experience, not hearsay.
