  1. The EA (and defra for that matter) should have to have some kind of licence, or even better a penalty (preferably a good flogging) for the vast volume of bullshit paperwork they produce.
  2. In that case, their qualifications are immaterial. If it was a council job, or a construction company, you could set the HSE on them (not that they'd bother coming) but if its private land they can do what they like. It is a bit sickening though, and I can understand you being pissed off.
  3. Was it a private domestic job, or commercial?
  4. Its funny, but I think Mogs adapt better to urban work than to heavy forestry and land clearance. One thing I would do, and I think Treebogan might have the same idea, is have a compact mount for the chipper, NOT the 3 point linkage. On the 3PL, the chipper tends to hang to far out the back, compresing the rear springs and forcing the front up. Treebogan, dont bother buying a used farmi. They are such a good deal new, its not worth it.
  5. Maybe- Forgive, but never forget. Forgive the sins of the past, but never forget the sacrifices made.
  6. Great pics mate. Just had to give you kudos for the highline pics at the treehouse. Very very cool.
  7. Oh yes, how narrow does narrow access mean? 35 inches? 28 inches?
  8. Very easy Lee. If you do any kind of volume clearence work, a 7515 would pay for itself in no time. Last time I used one, I took out 165 big stumps in 2 days. How much do you charge for grinding e.g. how much would you charge for a 4 ft dia stump, 2 foot high, ground out completely?

    Facebook?

I just find the final bit interesting, i.e. who funded it...
  10. Nope, I was taking about 3 weeks ago

    Facebook?

How many of you have details on facebook? Look at this, and you may be slightly concerned.... http://albumoftheday.com/facebook/
  12. Ditto, plus stumpgrinding in certain areas is VERY lucerative. I've earned up to £250 an hour on stumps.
  13. The one you need is a farmi 260hf. Its the best combination of performance vs price, is exceptionally well built, and is faily compact, with its folding hopper. Jamie has one mounted on a U900, maybe he can give an endorsement.

    Hey Ed!

I'm generaly disapointed with movies of books I've enjoyed. This looks like it could be good though. As for films of the other 2, why not?
  15. Iain, the deal was cash on collection - he did not want it going through his books. However, ther was no clause in the auction to finish early or the right to sell to someone else.
  16. Failing that, anybody know of a ford D series 6 cylinder engine for sale?
  17. According to ebay its definately legaly binding. Just wondered if anybody had any pointers.
  18. Anybody know what the legality's of Ebay auctions are? I bought an Item last sunday in Scotland, and arranged to collect it this weekend. I contacted the seller to confirm the collection, turns out he's decided to sell it to someone else, and now feels he's not liable. This has irritated me ( it was a rare ford tractor engine), and I was wondering if Ebay auctions are legaly binding?
  19. Just about - ALthough the biggest Claas I've seen is a 300hp machine with a GTW of 32 tonnes. In its biggest guise, the 460hzx weighs about 40 tonnes.
  20. I'm told certain local authority's will insist woodchip / timber is waste, unless you can prove you purchased it from the customer. Kinda daft.
  21. Ha! you'd kill a tractor trying to tow that...
  22. well spotted dan, although that motor is bigger than you think. It turns a planetary drive gearbox within the feed roller, giving 22:1 reduction, and massive torque.
  23. It might possibly put a few new kinks in...
  24. This is from a company I work closely with. Thought you might like to see the modular unit before it goes on a trailer. The rotor in this weighs about 7 tonnes alone...
  25. Plutonium fuel rods I split an old yew log into 4 today and put it in the Bosky with a few lumps of coal - It lasted for about 7 hours at meltdown level. Has to be very well seasoned though. So who's giving that kind of money for yew? I have a bit lying around...
