  1. That should last a few days Seriously, I think the box section is far to light. One good grapple load on that and it would not look so pretty. Put a support on each end where you've welded the box to the channel.
  2. Hmm. Standard model from J lathams, is 6600, easy with 11kw electric is 8600
  3. Brand new is only £7800...
  4. You have to get a 4.5 tonne chassis to get a twin rear wheel. 413cdi or similar. Better off looking at a 50 series Iveco...
  5. Could be mate. I think they are based in Plymouth.
  6. A chap who loves splitting wood will cost you more than a processor. I'm sure Steve will confirm, but the Hakki Pilke 37 will handle arb waste fine. I'm currently looking at the Tajfun 380. Its £2k more than the Hakki, but its got a lot more features and extras that I like.
  7. I was lucky - It was a very nice girl in procurements at a construction company who explained that to me
  8. The fence will make a good recepticle for all the cider bottles, fag packets, piss, chip papers and joint ends thatthe little scrotes leave lying around.
  9. The 20% retainer is purely on the labour element. I usually put down the labour element as 20% of the invoice total, the rest being haulage, machine hire, etc etc. That way I only pay 20% of 20%. All above board and legal, but means they cant shaft you for 20% of the invoice price.
  10. Takes no more than 24 hours to get a UTR number. That has no bearing on you being paid. I had the same situation with Williams Southern (big construction company from down your way), had to get the UTR. The girl in accounts had the UTR the next day, and straight away processed the payment for me. Remember that the tax element is purely on the labour part of your job. I would give them 24 hours notice and then file a County Court claim against them.
  11. going to be near on impossible to buy a used processor at this time of year. The only time they show up is in spring when guys who could'nt get wood get out the business. The dealers take any they can in part ex, as demand is so high at the moment. As for the dalen, yes, great machine, but expensive... Is that price for the base machine, or does that include any extras?
  12. About £4500
  13. Then you need Sandvik teeth. even after grinding a load of old cobbles and bricks, they cut through poplar like butter - [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVtJdeBuvLI]YouTube - Hornet pro 38 stumpgrinder[/ame]
  14. OK, you cant go posting pics like that without some better pics of your equipment! The hagglunds I recognize, is the tractor a Holder 50? Nasty site. been there, got the (wet) t shirt
  15. Low loader decks always used to be boarded with poplar. As people have spent more and more on their super expensive low loaders, the manufacturers started using expensive hardwood decks. Pointless really, as a track machine tears up a deck in no time.
  16. What do you need dave? might be able to help.
  17. Rob is a great guy. I want to visit him sometime, glad you had a good time doing it.
  18. Me too. I think Liam is making it up. Hand on fence? pffft. Next he'll be telling us a horsefly has bit his other hand and its swollen to twice its size...
  19. £13000 seems fair to me.
  20. It is very nice for furniture making Tommer - I have a dining table with sequoia top, looks lovely.
  21. Nice one Mario. $ to £ exchange is very poor right now...
  22. Palax combi is a great machine. You traded it in? I have a 14 tonne zero tailswing hitachi with timber grab, superb machine.
  23. Who - the debtor or the creditor?
  24. The Farmi 260 can be refitted with a crane hopper in minutes, and is designed from the factory for crane feeding - but only with the recomended farmi crane.
