  1. Josh, i can do any work necessary, but if you could PM me the price I would appreciate it. Steve, would DEFINATELY be interested in the FARM2000 - any info gratefully recieved.
  2. Products
  3. Its a farmi 260, so I would go with a farmi crane, as the A frame is compatable between the 2. The farmi A frame has mounting lugs for the chipper to sit on, and the chipper is available with a purpose built crane feed hopper, that swaps over in minutes.
  4. Thanks josh. I know of the scantec. Does he want money for it?
  5. Going to try and get mine to Pete this week.
  6. Ever used a Valmet (cranab) harvester crane? I reckon it would be the best type of chipper crane you could use. Bit big to fit on a tractor though.
  7. Farma, Farmi or weimer. Parallel cranes are nice, but if a crane has joystick controls, its largely irrelevant. I would go for something with decent reach, 6 - 8 meters. I used to have a 10m double extension on my forwarder, and it was exceptionally good for clearing large areas into the chipper. Best person to speak to is Andrew Holmes, as he supplies several different brands, and does a lot of the 3 point linkage conversions.
  8. Like a beck but hotter:001_rolleyes:
  9. Police have even less of a clue than VOSA. I was in france a few years ago, helping a mate out on the windblow contract, driving a forwarder. The trucks were going off site weighing about 60 tonnes. I asked the ONF (French forstry commision) guy how they got away with being so overloaded. They told me the french police would never dream of stopping a working timber truck going about its business. We apply the rules far too strictly in this country.
  10. I'm looking for an early ZXR!
  11. .....
  12. Always the best way.
  13. Simple - Till VOSA pull you over and ask you what justification you had for registering a HGV as agricultural. I'm not going to labour this point, but you can register anything you like as ag - but it does'nt make it legal. There have been quite a few tree surgeon's caught out badly, even with unimogs. If your caught hauling a load of any description, you will be in for a very nasty shock. I know that some people think its OK and legal, and some feel that they can fly under the rader. Thats fine, It's not my place to criticise, and its not my intention. I just want to point out the negative side of this argument, as warning to anybody who thinks its perfectly legal.
  14. Good luck with that
  15. You need a HGV usually, as many were plated at 10 tonne gross.
  16. Yeah, Mea culpa. I think it just steers on the fronts.
  17. Here you go Matt - quite possibly the best machines I've ever seen for forestry work - probably have a price tag to match... [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SE676iLQrVc]YouTube - Welte-Forestry Promotion Video[/ame]
  18. Riot police vans too.
  19. I used to have an old freight rover 400 turbo, with the fueling turned up. That would do 80mph, but with a cloud of diesel smoke behind. You could buy them from the factory with a 4 litre V8 aswell.
  20. Mercedes sold them off to Werner Forst- und Industrietechnik in 1991, who mainly build them as forestry machines. Found this video of one - cool as **** Articulated and fourwheel steer... WF-Trac 1700 Video - Andy889 - MyVideo Factory vid - http://www.werner-trier.com/wf-trac/mediathek/
  21. I like the look of these little machines Forwarder LVS 5 | Ing. Vojt?ch Novotný - skid steering - loaders - articulated - loaders - weldments they have a great youtube page, with some relly innovative ideas. check out the wood splitter, and the mini chip forwarder - YouTube - novotnyloaders's Channel
  22. Nah, just a load of Zip Ties:001_smile:
  23. Thanks Steve, wrong side of manchester for my mate.
  24. I think I've had a tipper with the V5 saying 'box body' for years. I've pointed it out when taxing, and they did'nt seem to care.
