  1. Ha. I'm pretty secure in my sexuality. I could sleep with another guy and still know I'm not gay. I was wondering though, does that little chipper come with its own handbag?
  2. The only downside to owning one of those chippers is having to tell your parents your Gay.
  3. yeah right:001_rolleyes:
  4. Because thats not what he asked. And if the unimog is so marvelous, why did you sell yours? In my most very humble opinion, the unimog is best described as a jack of all trades, master of none. Anyhoo, this is descending into the old unimog vs everything else argument. What matt asked is for advice on old roofmount countys, and the best thing for doing various extraction jobs. The Unimog may be fine for some of he tasks you describe, but for what matt said it needed to do, a unimog would be rubbish.
  5. ?????????????????????????????????????????????
  6. Stevie! - you know I love you:001_wub:
  7. County tractors were great in their day, but have reached classic status now, meaning they comand silly prices. An ideal machine would be an MBtrac with mounted winch, as they have the ideal weight distribution for skidding - But have a small forwarding trailer for shortwood extraction. Unfortunately MBtracs are hitting classic status too, so prices are going up. Possibly a good compromise would be an older 135 Fastrac, and spend a bit on decent guarding.
  8. Can we re-name this the 'Shreks Wee Life' thread?
  9. Not me. The last person you ever want to trim your hedge is me. Seriously. If you want your hedge dissasembling into its component particles at a sub-atomic level, I'm your man.
  10. Its very easy to saw billets into logs when dry using a circular saw. billets de bois de chauffage -
  11. And there would be huge Nissan patrol ruts across the lawns following the thieves of saws, with mangled bloody body parts with BFG Tyres imprinted on whats left where I'd managed to catch up with them.
  12. Its worked for me, but only if its split to billets, cross stacked and left with a top cover. Just like they do in France.
  13. Steve, that price you have on the infeed belt is very good. I had to replace the outfeed belt on a big horizontal grinder, and that was thousands of £. It would appear to be expensive stuff.
  14. Nice Landy!
  15. Start cutting and splitting into billets now Matty, and it will be dry by christmas.
  16. Thats where mine came from. Gareth is a top bloke.
  17. Had more saws nicked in Liverpool than anywhere else. And not from the caravan dwelling types either. Liverpool seems to produce an inordinately high percentage of robbing b@arstards. And I say that despite having scouse parents and having married into the scouse mafia.
  18. How much to do a 395? I've got a few I want porting (Properly!)
  19. J the tree - why not just run a purpose built machine?
  20. Lee is always generous with his beer at the shows:thumbup1:
  21. Not a huge fan of the jensen, but the lads seem to like them so by al means PM me a quote:thumbup1:.
  22. What contractor? I bought my county from a longleat contractor, and when I sold it again they hunted it down to buy it back.
  23. If I had to go skidding, the last thing I would buy is a unimog. That skidder mog is just a toy, nothing else. My 1184TW county on Extra large american skidder tyres would go anywhere, and do 33 mph on the road. If i was going onto a skidding contract though, I would look at a dedicated proper skidder, preferably with winches AND a grapple. Timberjack 360 or similar. Buy the machine designed for the job, not some adapted abortion. Even county tractors are adapted machines.
  24. Baz, can you quote me on a long term hire? Feel free to PM.
