  1. Seen them a few times on vids like this, but would love to try one before buying. The the main thing that concerns me is that the whole idea and design of the head means it sinks into the log, it then hits the let to one side and twists the head to sperate the logs. I wonder how much this "twist" effects the users wrists?
  2. Could that lesson be, your instructor wasnt too good at giving lessons?
  3. Having a pointed nose doesnt reduce kick back that much anyhow. Correct training reduces more:sneaky2:
  4. I'd be interested in going, but theres no mention of saws?
  5. Had a black thorn a few weeks back, but after 2 days in hospital waiting rooms(as it was low priority) I dug it out with my knife. Seems to have healed ok now.
  6. Got there in the end Stevie, was my pop up blocker. Either that or the massive amount of Jim Beam i have consumed! Very impressive bit of kit though, will he just stick the split chunks through the processor next?
  7. Following the recent contamination of all my seasoned stuff, I finally resorted to selling green Ash today:sneaky2: The phone has gone none stop for days, and Ive been saying "sorry, no seasones available, but I have fresh processed ash" and the reply from every one has been "it will be fine"! Had a mad day today and made working this week worth while. Earned enough today to call it xmas. Im not worried, they all know what they bought! But then again, I arent worried about selling next years stock, I have loads left!

    prices.

Take it thats a NO then. Wood is wood after all:thumbup:
  9. Surprised he didnt kick your backsides for running a saw with a chain as slack as that!
  10. This probably isnt going to be much help, but IMO its not the battery. If you are trying several times, THEN the starter engages it isnt the battery. However, if you go for a new battery and intend keeping the truck for a while, do as some of the others say and get a good one. Cheap doesnt last with batteries. My 2002 td5(with winch) still has its origional LR one fitted. Bet theres not many others will last 8 years. Dont think its the problem with yours, or the alternator, but worth bearing in mind IF you need one in the future.
  11. Cheers for the help guys. I will be speaking to my mate on tuesday so will pass on the info. The extraction is part of a mixed woodland where there is approx 3-400 tons total of mixed hardwood coming out. The pop seemed to be the stuff giving him concern. All will be forwarded to roadside so chip/pulp should be possible for bulk transport.
  12. Oh, sorry, as for the landy peeing dont worry its a landy! If it keeps starting in the morning you're doing well!
  13. Ed, Ive just seen your disco avatar:scared1::scared1: Is that yours?
  14. Cheers guys, was hoping that would be a last resort but starting to look more viable. The other way being considered is biomass. Less coin but much quicker:001_huh: Any other bright ones?
  15. Too right Rob, when we had over 2 feet of the stuff couple of weeks back there was nothing on the national news. Now it seems the whole country is going to be bankrupt before xmas, but we've not had any:001_rolleyes:
  16. Cheers for that, just the M1 and M25 mainly so shouldnt be too bad then. Keep the forecasts coming too mate, much appreciated:thumbup:
  17. Nothing this side Peckerwoo and not expecting much either. Make a change from the 2-3 feet we got last time! Very frosty though!
  18. Anyone know any reports on London area? Had chance of travelling down tomorrow but not sure on road conditions down there.
  19. Last time I worked with him he stuck a set of sheep shears in my arm, but thats another story:lol: Stop derailing the thread Johnny, that Woodpicker wont be too happy:001_tt2: Sorry mate.
  20. So, it must be worth £50/ton delivered for you to mix it in then Johnny:thumbup:
