  1. Yeh Jon, it being a station wagon too makes it worth doing, but you know where Im coming from, it can cost a stack to do but try and find another as good and you'll struggle. Its just a landy thing, it matters not how much it costs, you've just gotta do it!
  2. Matt, just throwing this in the pot really; Have you totted up the final cost for all this including the chassis and labour, and those other "extra" bits above what you plan for? I know you will do it anyway( I dare say I would too:001_rolleyes:) but you must be getting close to the value of the finished vehicle after all this is done. Its probably worth around £1500 now as a mot failure.
  3. Keep looking for a 200t. Really! I have a feeling the husky 540 will be launched at the next up and coming APF show in 2014. Well thats what happened two years ago at the 2010 APF when they said its launch was due imminantly:001_rolleyes:
  4. I didnt, but looks like theirs was going to be a painful, long job:001_rolleyes: At a guess Adam, as the log was submerged and not floating, the sawdust would do the same?
  5. I have actually done that:001_rolleyes: I did have the relevant ppe on though!
  6. Thats not bad. Possibly try NFU? What value have you put on it though?
  7. Never mix soft with hard. Sell hardwood at a premium and softwood 20% cheaper for the same bulk. Only sell it seasoned, and if its struggling to go out of the door, offer a couple of small nets free as a trial with a bulk load of hardwood.
  8. Just found it. Looks straight up, but VERY expensive! HUSQVARNA T540XP TOP HANDLE PETROL CHAINSAW WITH 12" BAR | eBay
  9. So now the odds are stacked against you using it, following very well educated advice given here. It appears you are stuck with it, so how much do you want for it?
  10. Satrting fires with it is illegal, and if you put it in a hire machine, then it blows up, you could be in for a shock!
  11. Looking good Andy:thumbup1:
  12. This can be easily determined by looking for red or brownish spackles and patches on main stems. Also occasionally, cankers and slight bleeding on branches can show in last stages before death of those branches. Still doubtful in this case IMO, as the dieback has been seasonal and has been happeniing for at least 3 years that I can see from the pics. Cypress canker in tight trimmed conifer kills much quicker. A good old tap of the hedge can also be a good indicator for aphid infestation, likewise the presence of spiders webs.
  13. Its more a case of if you can get hold of one. Will depend how clued up and helpful your local dealer is, but a good starting point. The other alternative is make or have one made:thumbup1:
  14. Those jobs are one of the best money makers there is. Easy to underprice, but once you know how to deal with volume (with the right staff and the right chipper/transport) a job like that can earn good money.
