  4. Done that for many years on Inland Waterways allways fun That cabin cruisers roof would have been fibre glass and is probably cracked. The water does absorb some of the impact though.
  5. No callout but dealt with a few emergencies, 10 trees, mainly hemlock up-rooted at our yard. Got them down safetly and the root balls flopped back up. Went and did 2 of the 3 booked jobs for the day rain was heavy to say the least !
  6. Wussy we were out in it all day
  7. Thing is if your well booked up people won't wait and i hate letting regular clients down. If it's an emergency fair enough.
  8. I applied for the flat rate scheme and got a nice letter back saying i'm not eligabile as my turnover is 1/3rd higher than it really is...I wish !
  9. When i worked for a local authority in 2000 it was a requirement i believe and we were sent on updates every bloody 6 months ! Last update i did was 2001 lol.
  10. For those that are considering one I was in Honey Brothers earlier and enquired on price. Very favourable and worth a call i'd say
  11. Cheers guys, it's access restrictions, side access is great but then there is a flight of steps with no room to swing a big grinder around. I'll try arbor plant on Monday as we have an account with them
  12. I have a need for a very small stump grinder does anybody have any experience of these machines ? Also where could you hire or buy one (depending on price !) close to Guildford, Surrey.
  13. Lee that new website looks very professional mate
  14. I find if you do a really good reduction i.e the tree is slightly smaller in the crown but not over thinned the client isn't happy because it looks like you haven't touched the tree. I take pride in a nice reduction for the right client but most are hard to please.
  15. They don't worry about the odd hanger down in Dorset lol
  16. Very impressive Lee good luck with the venture
  17. Nice unit Bob, looks like the draw bar i s a little low though !
  18. Exactly, a good friend of mine was in the PT corp and was responsible for Harry and William. We worked on the trainning area on a scrub contract during the winter Harry was trainning and saw him most days. Good lads both of them
  19. Anybody can become an officer if they work hard enough and qualify for Sandhurst. Generally it's only wealthy foreigners that pay to send their children through Sandhurst and that's because it's seen as the best trainning establishment in the world. For your information Harry was not treated differently at Sandhurst, the only concession that was made was when they were out running on the area a Police team followed him on runs in a Range Rover to keep the media at bay. He didn't ask for that it is organised by the establishment. When you have trained for a task for months or even years in the forces you relish the oprtunity to carry out that task. I respect that young man immensely for his attitude, it's the media that interefere and produce mis-leading and inappropriate headlines.
  20. Close that laptop and get upstairs NOW
  21. Wow those German military mogs have to be the ultimate square cab models..I want one !
  22. Ha now you've done it, here come the pics !
  23. Heh mate, If your in Catterick try the MOD, Landmarc Suppost Services are the people to speak to they may have some land that isn't used for trainning. I know of patches of broadleaved woodland around Catterick Garrison and out towards Leyburn that are MOD controlled.
