  1. But the game fair is more of a past time show rather than a trade fair a bit like the landy shows. the AA and APF are trade shows and should be free like Lamma, SED, Hillhead, Saltex, Interbuild and the CV show.
  2. Lol, It was well handy being that big didn't have to move from initial set up whole tree done from one spot. oh and it was a good price too so made sense to have overkill rather than struggle.
  3. I haven't uploaded pics of the felled stem yet I'll do it tomorrow. Sunday was incredibly hot, all the lads did well to do 10 hrs in that heat. The MEWP driver was a top man got stuck in helping and could put the truck or the basket where ever it was required with minimal fuss.
  4. Here's a job I helped with on Sunday and Monday. The site was a college i do a lot of Grounds Maintenance work for, However not being qualified in large takedowns I put them in touch with a friend and then went and helped on the job. It was I'm led to belive a Black Poplar the story behind its removal was that it had shed a couple of large limbs and one had written off a new Mercedes in the parking bay below. The colleges attitude was that they wanted to remove all future risks and were not keen on having invoices for regular pollarding/reductions. No Problems from the local Authority so down it came. The platform was used because thats what the man carrying out the work wanted More to come hang on!
  5. I don't agree with it either, Saltex, SED, Hillhead, Interbuild and the CV show are all free entry.
  6. Not that mobile behind an LDv though is it which is what steve is after! Even the super major ain't quick enough to drive very far on the road commercially.
  7. you know your a tree surgeon when you log into arbtalk over breakfast, Oh no sorry thats just an addiction!
  8. Ditto
  9. Pete, When I worked for Ed, Jim and i cleaned up the new body and finished the welding of it. It was then lifted on to the wagon and sheeted down. wanted the Atlas and winch sorting. I belive when they moved it across the yard last they drove it! I bet the cab needs some TLC. I wish I had the money I'd love to see that project finnished and get it on the road.
  10. Class 7 MOT's are for vehicles grossing 3500kg or vans. ie trannsit tippers and 130's and 110 hard tops, Charlie if you have a crew cab I am not so sure I'll ask my MOT tester friend tomorrow and let you know. I've read alot on the Landy forums about the new tax brackets and no one has yet said it affetcs pre 2001 vehicles if they do world war 3 will break out.
  11. Dean, I thought you owned a 300TDI 130? In which case they don't fit the same tax brackets as a TD5. Your 130 Legally requires a Class 7 MOT your test station is braking the law if its having a standard class 4. Oh and as a foot note our firm is now buying 110 Double cabs and taxing them as light commercial's thus £175 a year.
  12. Well here is my logic, the car park should thin out towards the end of the day so we can all manouvere into a corner then? you all might have a bit of a job finding me though my old landy isn't too distinctive:001_smile:

Lee I actually bought a new John deere like that one i.e a toy recently and I could have bought a new 026 or 357 nearly for the cash it cost!
  15. would be nice if we could plan to camp in the same area!
  16. Anybody camping at APF and if so where? Is there a local site your all using? I know there is the other thread but that seems to be hotels/B&bs.

  19. I've been saying this for years I even posted it the discussion about changes to the CS units a while ago
  20. yeah there arn't that many 110's gross at 3500kg mainly ex leccy board ones with all the kit on.
  21. Thats only side lights next time we are out at night with the camera I'll try and get a pic of all the ambers on!
  22. LOL, Yep there all LED but there are two batteries on board and 140amp alternator. I like the view from the back too. Wiring wise, I got my friend an auto electricain to splice into the existing loom and I have Junction box front and rear similar to the ones on Ifor williams trailers that all the additional marker lights are wired through. yeah seen the chassis but its TD5 engine mounts so its probably more hassle than its worth for a 300 owner.
  23. Went to the local steam rally last night decided to play with the new camera on night mode, Heres a few picks of the motor in the dark with just sidelights on!
  24. My accident was on the ground, I had a 660 kick back and lucily was only cliped by a braked chain, however I had the large filed dressing in my pocket, I was so glad it was there I had it out and on in seconds, I didn't have to move. The Field kit was only 20 feet away, but just after the shock of a 660 kicking back 20 feet may as well have been 20 miles. And yep on the rare occasions I climb there is a kit on my harness.
  25. Yes Its sad mate, but I ain't convinced the Bypass would have avoided this accident. if the wagon was bound for Melton it would have still been on the 607. And to be fair the driver was released without charge, think we will end up finding out it was speed related not to mention the mondeo was overloaded. Its sad but young drivers will speed on any road bypass or not.
