  1. i did the hgv one last week, its now 19 clis long and is booked seperate to multi choice test, unlike the car one that is tagged on the end.
  2. Please can you show me the link and your maths that worked that out? I'm not arguing with you but I can't get the figures to add up to legal on B licence passed after 1/1/97?
  3. possibly so mr huck!
  4. cautionary tale boys, my neighbour invested in the super new ally ramps on his latest ifor went to its first ploughing match unloaded the tractor left the ramps as he had allways done ready for re loading and on his return they had gone! Moral of the story lighter ramps easier to nick, so lock em up!
  5. The whole driving licence thing is a con, its costing my employer 2k to get me through C+E which incedently a lad like Tom may as well do instead of C1+E as you end up doing two tests and paying the same amount of money for tests and instructors!
  6. Fair enough John It was the above sentance that lead to my comment , it did kind of imply the C1+E thing was the only reason.
  7. Is that really the only reason you can't take him on John? There is no hope for kids of today if thats the line a Local Authority is taking. I hope they don't display the investors in people logo on their letter head!

  11. great minds think alike John, am just waiting for the gaffer to authorise it at 140 quid for a private medical! I wouldn''t mind but I aint a regular at our surgery the last time i went was 14 years ago!
  12. Well after 3 years of badgering my employer has agreed to put me through My HGV Cat C and then C+E so I have the go ahead to do it all but before I can even book a theory test I need a medical, Ring the doctors to make an appointment, to be told I need to speak to the practice secretary and she'll stick me on a list and will ring me when a doctor wants some extra beer tokens! could be tomoz could be 6 months time! I am really not impressed!
  13. I used to use one in winter when I was a teenager and cycling nuts, but I hated it! I got bored very very quickly!
  14. Jameson do a heavy duty lopper head with two pulleys and it will at a push take a 1" branch but it is abusing the head! I used to regularly use 3 x 8' poles with no problem at all.
  15. Flail cut hedges are also only as good as the driver of the machine!
  16. I heard of one of those D shaped lincmaster track locks being cut through with a good old hacksaw!!!!!
  17. you can use most standard gas cannisters ours are about 3 quid an brew a lot of tea before they need swapping.
  18. sorry to hear about that and will pass the landy reg on through our local club incase anyone is offered anything.
  19. look here http://pwsacc.co.uk/bumpers.htm
  20. A couple were a while in production too If I remeber Pete, though they were worth waiting for!
  21. So did i mate, drive past a CC highways work here and you can spot the wagon drivers instantly! one half of them is orange the other half yellow, trousers or top they seem to compromise rather than comply with either organisations policy! Landy is fine ta.
  22. one of the problems down here from a highways job is the rules say yellow for roads, but the wagon drivers running in the quarry have to wear orange, thats why we end up with multi colours on highways jobs down here. At work we always wear yellow unless we are in the boundaries of railway and then its orange.
  23. I heard of a scenario up north where someone was calling low loader drivers wanting backloads, giving the wagon driver a site address and telling them to collect the machine and deliver it to somewhere. Wagon driver does as instructed and has actually commited the crime unknowingly!
  24. christ this is too close to home! hope you get a lead on it.
  25. if they are into mchinery diggerland! at 5 they can drive most stuff without having an adult in the cab. I say drive they arn't allowed to track an 8 tonner about but they can dig holes and stuff and play hook a duck with a mini digger. Goooogle their web page
