If company policy is no non ce marked splices then making one is damaging the rope, especially as it will only be cut off come loler time. Anyways this is getting off the original point of the thread a bit. -

Tie the bowline long and it won't interfere with the hitch too much, and larks foot the biner on to the bowline if possible to keep it aligned. Still not as good as a spliced eye though. -

They dont like being run flat, sounds like you need to charge it more often. Trickle charge off the towing vehicle is the easiest way.

You will need some pretty heavy duty cable to run the motor, at least 50mm2, and you'll need about 20 metres of it to get from your truck battery to the trailer. That plus a decent fuse and some conduit will set you back about £150, probably cheaper to buy a new battery. Easy enough job to do though.

Thats a pretty good payload for a small truck. I take it you downrated it for driver licence reasons? It should be plated to tow 3.5 tonnes.

Its not specifically mentioned in the letter, not 100% sure tbh. Although I should point out that its 4250kg, as in 3500 MAM vehicle towing 750kg MAM trailer or another combination as long as its within the towing capacity of the vehicle and trailer doesnt weigh more than towing vehicle.
