  1. Dont bother doing C1+E, it is the same test as C+E and roughly the same money. B+ E is easier and cheaper to get, and will cover you for what you need ie 3.5 tonne truck and up to 3.5 tonne trailer.
  2. Oh rig away, just thinking about climbing applications.

Got a couple of bits of ash if anyone is interested please ring or pm.
  5. Not so much on the bench as on the kitchen worktop, bit chilly in the workshop today! Throttle cable replacement on the 441, bit more fiddly than I was expecting. Old cable had frayed where it passes through the first plastic block, causing the throttle to stick. Gave me some interesting moments up a tree the other day!
  6. I'm sure it is safe as houses, just wondering if it would meet the definition of three way locking for connectors.
  7. 3 separate movements would you say?
  8. Is that rock exotica pulley just a push button to open?
  9. The code 107 is on licences that have the C1+E category as a grandfather right, ie if you have a pre 1997 licence. C1 is 7500kg MAM vehicle with no towing entitlement.
  10. You can't drive the 5.5 tonner on a B category, trailer or no trailer. If you get pulled they will do you for driving without a licence, 11 points........
  11. Yeah, bit of a difference between hitching an ifor up to a landy and getting a 45 foot semi trailer with a fifth wheel coupling hooked up to a artic tractor unit.
  12. No, if you pass C+E you automatically get B+E but not the other way round.
  13. I will volunteer to test it out and post a review, if a supplier wants to send me one.
  14. Do you not feel your getting Fiat rather than Mercedes?
  15. My last pair of Pfanner boots were made in Italy....
  16. Those of us who climb with a variety of saws?! Get off your high horse, I have used just about every size of saw from a harness, up to an 880/3120 with a 4' bar. Proper planning and technique are more important than brute force is what I'm saying, and there is no reason why a 9 stone climber should struggle with a 90cc saw.
  17. Yes it is, it's when the blinking thing is dangling off your harness its heavy, as soon as its in the cut it could be any saw.
  18. All saws weigh the same once theyre in the cut.....
  19. Horse box, camper van, classic/vintage lorry or motor sport transport/workshop. For instance.
  20. The terms of a restricted licence are nothing to do with the size of the company, it the way the vehicles are used. For instance an owner driver engaged in haulage work would need a full o licence, but a large company who only use their trucks to transport their own goods wouldn't. You specify the arrangements for maintenance, then they tell you if your proposal is acceptable or not. You could do the inspections yourself, if you have the relevant qualifications or experience and facilities to do the work. There is a table to help you work out the frequency of inspections, mileage on one side and type of work on the other. Somewhere between 4 and 12 weeks depending on what you decide is appropriate.
  21. You only have to read the GV79 guidance notes to find that out.
  22. Is your main business activity agriculture or forestry?
  23. Slightly different scenario, the road from Littleport to Welney near me is often officially closed all winter, but some days you can drive through and its just a few cm deep, other times it can be 2 metres under. So officially closed but it may well be passable at the driver's discretion.
  24. Do you need chainsaw trousers to use a pair of loppers? Lovely little machines, got one of my own though, so I shan't be needing to hire one unless I have a big job and want two. (Then we could have races )
