  1. I just thought of something. Is the rotator/magneto located onto the spline of the shaft? There is a slot where it has to be located. If not this could be the reason it worked for a while, if it's not located properly it will move, make a noise and then won't start or run.
  2. Have you looked at the piston?
  3. Will the saw run? Does the pull cord stay stuck out?
  4. Just in case. Sterling Rope » Recall Notice: Sewn Cords Due to Fall Hazard
  5. Nice work.
  6. I have spliced the Sirius with that cover pattern and as far as I know it's all ok.
  7. I seem to remember cover taper is 5-4-4-5-4-4-5. DB class 1. But you may want to check that with the manufacturer.
  8. Ride hight is good on mine but the front tyres suck.
  9. Wash your hands next time;) New rope is easier. Easier to get a nice tight eye.
  10. I've seen two broken ones online so far.
  11. I would wait if your thinking of getting the CT device.
  12. Looks good from here.
  13. No cameras, no stickers!
  14. As Peter said. That throat looks mega tight, if you do manage to pull it out hit the throat with a rubber mallet on a flat surface that will help loosen things up.
  15. Picture of the splice?
  16. Everybody copy's everybody else. That's a fact. I'm sure Ed Hobbs didn't just come out with his device from thin air? I'm pretty sure blocks have been around thousands of years? The wheel has been around a while. It has ALL been done before. The Aliens told me that.
  17. Oops, sorry got wires crossed.
  18. Look at NE fly splice instructions, easy splice as Drew said but Drew makes it look lovely by burying the cover as well. Send me the instructions how you do that Drew:)
  19. Trouble with that is that it all flops about. This keeps it all nice and tight and positioned nicely.
  20. The amount of force generated to cause a rope to snap around a thin bend radius would be enough to cause your body some serious damage, if you generated that amount of energy during a fall on a lanyard the you would be doing something very wrong. IMO.
  21. The only recorded accidents with the Cinch appear to have happened when it was used as it was intended, a belay device. Anybody ever heard of problems when used as a lanyard adjuster? Curious is all.
  22. I recall that there was some kind of kerfuffle, I believe the felling was on the cards for years but nobody local wanted to do it.
  23. I have just renewed my CHAS accreditation, competent health and safety advice you could say you get from the AA or indeed the HSE. You don't actually have to know everything just have access to somebody or an organisation that does.
  24. Remove trees for views. Felling the Giant Redwoods at Ashton Court - a set on Flickr
  25. Er, maybe you guys should take this elsewhere.
