1. Lovely gear By FTC.

3. Thanks for the info on the engine mounts Marc I'll keep an eye on mine, I've had the lower roller upgrade and had the paddles replaced on the rear of the rotator all on warranty with excellent dealer support. It's a great machine and I prefer it to the Forst which Is also a good machine that I often hire for site work.
4. Not really Tommy, you can have your splicing method certified and then each rope manufacturers rope included in your method, so you can splice a Yale DB, Samson DB etc under the same method but including that individual manufacturers instructions within your method.
5. Ok, if you buy a rope with a spliced eye and then cut that rope and I put a new splice in that rope that is a SERVICE and not manufacture, if you buy a brand new rope with no spliced eye and you want me to splice you an eye in the end then that also is a SERVICE and not manufacture If I purchased a reel of new rope cut it into lengths and spliced an eye into each length then re-sold each length then that is manufacture.
6. Because splicing a used rope or a rope that has already been purchased by a private individual is a service and not manufacturing and requires no CE certification
7. By the way, a hand splice doesn't require CE certification if it is a re-splice, eg, if you buy a rope with no splice termination then get it spliced by an independent rope splicer it's all perfectly legal, some people may argue this point but they are incorrect.
8.
Hello, you sent me a message? Please text me 07917799422

9. I reported it to my very good dealer and have not heard anything back. If you look at the machine with the split the panel gap is all wrong, not like mine at all so you have to wonder about the machines history before you can make a judgment. no problems with mine.
10. Here's the picture pulled off Facebook, notice the panel gaps as well as the split. Different to mine, I'm not worried as I've got a three year warranty and I'll probably trade it in then.
11. Here's mine.
12. I've had mine for a while now, well over 100 hours, I am very impressed with it, I've seen the reports on the steel/weld cracking above the rotator and do have the start of a split in the paint but no more than that, I keep a close eye on that area. It chips like a bigger machine and is a very well thought out chipper when it comes to maintenance.
13. I've used the SW a few times now and it's a very nice device, please send me one or a GRCS or an LD1 or LD2!
14. Yeah I'm looking forward to it, no noise, no fumes.

16. I've had a fair bit of interest in the saw, sorry I've not got back to you, I'm slack like that. Anyway, managed to find time to strip it down yesterday and found the crank bearing has disintegrated. Still waiting to find out if the owner wants to repair or sell.
17. Gmail just puts them in a spam folder.
18. We are taking down a large Walnut, starting Monday in Sherston, I will find out what's happening with the timber.
19. Got any pics?
20. Interesting reading, especially points 2.1.4 to 2.1.8 so maybe a CE mark is not required although information for the safe use and a record of proof testing is if you are thinking of fabricating and then selling a device used in the control of loads in tree work is. But obviously this document could well be wrong. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/attachments/rigging-roping/1363d1197796700-lowering-device-impeller-conformance-report-.pdf
21. The Smart Winch. CE marked? Just a question, I don't want persecution.
22. Yes, Harken or similar winches.
23. Plenty of people have fabricated their own devices with Harken or similar winches.
24. Proper Job!
25. Drew, LOLER is just recording the equipment used for work at height. It's normal in high access work. Obviously, ultimately it should be down to the user and hopefully LOLER inspection should and could be part of training eventually.
