    Well looks like no one's ben up to much over the last couple of weeks! Well i've got a new groundie (yippee!!!!) starts a week on monday. No more working solo and begging and borrowing staff from other folks. What have you lot been up too?

    it's proving that the training was adequate. You can train and certify inhouse but the onus would you to prove that it is satisfactory. Who else other than NPTC offer arb forestry units at the moment?

    I don't think that is realistic Lee. Proving that an employee was suitably trained without nationally recognised qualifications would be difficult and very time consuming. Especially if the poo hits the fan. It gets complex enough recording and unpdating any inhouse training as it is. By all means train them and get them assesed independantly, but taking the moral high ground could be costly IMHO

    The tiered system sounds reasonable in principal, but it would involve reassesment which, unless there is some incentive i.e. reduced insurance would only incur more cost to either an individual or biz.
