  1. the rubber rings attach to the cam. i used to have the same system on my mark1 ropeguid and the rubber persished. i just replaced it with the newer style cam with the spring fitted instead. i suggest doing this....its only about £10 and probably needs replacing anyway
  2. no thanks...you caught me out with that one last year:001_tongue:
  3. i love watching stuff like this....you cant possibly practise to be that good at anything, thats a natural flare
  4. i dislike the way they bring their young children along to chant......theres a handful of adults with probably little else to do, and a bunch of kids who have absolutely no understanding of whats going on and are just having a "fun day out" making a nuisance of themselves.....almost a case of adults exploiting their kids IMO
  5. just for arguements sake, it one was going for a record attempt, im assuming that would void the time?
  6. interesting to read all the comments....i dont see a problem with the vid personally....everything we do in tree work has an element of risk involved.....so long as the people in the tree are both competent...to me it just looks like a variation of a theme, with the intention of adding a new dimension to what it sometimes quite a routine job. i'd have been happy to be up that spar taking the top out providing a new the abilities of the other climber.....and the tree was of course sound.
  7. i believe(dont quote me) a 7.5t canter full of tools and towing a chipper
  8. sorry to hear mate! there was a whole load of stuff nicked form a council depot down the road form me at ipswich aswell last night, dont have full details yet though
  9. good advice by dean there. whatever friction hitch you use should be out of reach when you are footlocking....and should be ignore. your hands sliding up the rope should advance the hitch as if it wasnt there. if you have it set wrong and have to physically push it up you're wasting valuable energy
  10. run us through it then robdog
  11. fantastic opportunity mate...stuff like this really makes me wish i didnt have any committments sometimes
  12. this is what i got for celox Arbtalk.co.uk | Discussion Forum for Arborists - Search Results and stacks for knot...are you sure you're using it properly?
  13. i have a tmobile mobile broadband dongle, its ok, but certainly wouldnt want to be using it all the time as it can be painfully slow in some areas.....pot luck wether or not your neighbour has their network secured...heres a thought though, offer to go halves with them on the internet bill in exchange for their password?
  14. crikey, it was only due this month werent it? they didnt hang around
  15. i just do it in the corner of the kitchen worksurfaces
