if you have a look at this thread http://www.arbtalk.co.uk/showthread.php?t=116 ive been playing around with that.....i dont have the little swivel so ive been feeding it through the ring instead.....it works pretty well.

everyone bends the rules sometimes....ie make 25% into 30% but theres a hug difference between cutting back to a boundary and topping, and if its going to be seen then its just not worth the risk is it?

not climbed with the hitch climber version yet buzz. i reckon with a second rope guide it would be pretty cool. specially if you used a ropeman near the second pulley to stop the swaying affect

ok heres a few pics i took today of the m redirect. the first 2 pics are a standard vt set up. the spliced end of the line is unclipped, fed through the krab, over the redirect crotch then back to the krab. this can be retreived without climbing back to the redirect point. this set up uses no extra hardware at all. pics 3 & 4 are showing a set up using the v.t with a hitchclimber. i used an additional krab and pulley on this set up for smoothness. you could add a friction saver on the redirect anchor point with another pulley if you wanted it super smooth and it would still be retreivable....course you'd end up using more gear.

What methods do you use for re-directing your climbing line and why? im especially interested in any retreivable re-directs people have found or invented themselves. personally, i carry a double pulley on my harness attached to a krab with a short sling, i can use that as a redirect but its not retreivable. if i want a retreivable re-direct i use the M-technique. i'll get a pic of that setup tomorrow if anyones not familiar with it. i prefer the M.....although its not as smooth as a traditional re-direct with a double pulley i think its safer as it doesnt side load your main anchor point like a traditional redirect can.

so anyway back to the original topic....i think just about everyone in this area at the moment lacks work.....and because of that theres plenty staff kicking round! few months time it will probably be completely the reverse!
