  1. I think in 19 years I can only recall hacking back 1 willow that didn't sprout back after.
  2. This is ongoing as far as I know http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/chainsawbars/64586-arbtalk-discount-now-ended-throw-ins-begin.html
  3. Blue sky's, sunny and frosty, wish it was like this 365 days of the year!
  4. Had a lot of donations in overnight and this morning, pretty sure we are significantly over the 9k mark now, will have a final figure when I get home
  5. Works fine from my iPhone. Try a different browser if you have one
  6. Someone else had this problem, I believe it's a glitch in their new website software when it's on mobile view. Is there an option to view as desktop?
  7. you're comparing a battery saw with a petrol saw. For me, the batter saws come into their own on hot summer days, but deadwoods maybe where you only need the saw for the odd piece here and there. No need for ear defenders or plugs. Its a pleasure to use on such days. but as I said before, its really an extra saw to add to the arsenal, maybe a luxury even.
  8. Getting into chainsaw carving by any chance Sean?
  9. Ditch the ear defenders and visor for plugs and specs, you'll never look back. I remember the last time I had to borrow a helmet as I had forgot mine, seemed like every single twig in the tree wanted to breed with the ear defenders
  10. I'm tired just at the thought of using my silky on a piece that big! haha
  11. Lovely pic mate, and they look tall indeed. How high do you reckon? Turkey Oak?
  12. In answer to your query about the husky topper....if you are choosing between the 2 then the 150 will be the better choice, mainly because you can use it all weathers unlike the battery saws.
  13. We have a late addition to this years raffle courtesy of Treeworker - Professional arboricultural supplies Their contribution to this years raffle is 2 x 1 day splicing workshop of the winners choice.
  14. yes they are both good saws, the 150 particularly due to the low weight. I used mine today re-pollarding a large chestnut, no cuts larger than 2" diameter. I used the 150 for pretty much all of it with the exception of the odd piece I couldnt get the angle on, and one section that all needed cut and holding over a tiled garage roof.
  15. Edited the thread title, now 1 day left. Ticket sales end tomorrow(Friday) at 4pm sharp
  16. And quite right too....good for them
  17. Must get back in the habit of photographing my work. I rarely do these days. Today was cutting back a high pollarded chestnut back to previous. About a million cuts to make and the weather wasn't kind either. Back there next week so will try get a photo
