  1. very true roger, i did look into having it done, unfortunately i cant find anyone in the uk to do these mods and would have to be sent to the US. its on my to do list!
  2. i like the look of that, be a sod to park at tescos though
  3. i dont think its meant to be used for primary life support mate....i'd re-think that personally if i were you!
  4. cheers mate....was one of my fave songs when i was younger and into all that kinda music....wasnt sure how it was going to be received when i added it to the vid, but it seemed to work!!
  5. matty, you dont use a ropeman as your primary adjustment on your lanyard do you?
  6. thats my attitude too bob...plus pulling the saw this way takes twice as long because of the 2-1 effect! but still....its a technique that some people may find useful!
  7. thats how i do it too...this way though the groundy can pull the saw back up the tree for you
  8. I know a couple of people who use these but i was just wondering what the general opinion is on them...do they stay stood up well.....and more importantly are they robust and up to the job? Stump grinding guard
  9. its always nice to assume others will take care of your stuff how you would want it to....far better though to assume they wont and ask them to do it. that way no one gets upset with anyone!
  10. welcome old ugly, treeco, and woodman
  11. haha its actually scratched on the underside of a ganoderma bracket in case you didnt realize.....and its just temporary!
  12. treebuzz is one of the best sites for sure, learnt loads from there, but you're right, a lot of the political side of tree work is just irrelevant and i think that stops a lot of british tree surgeons contributing.....that what my primary reason for starting arbtalk!
  13. ok, only reason i ask is if you're using a v.t you can incorporate the v.t pulley into your saw lowering system and eliminate the need for that extra pulley on your harness
  14. i have inbetween saws, but if im up a tree i always go straight from my ms200t to the 460. my 088 comes out maybe 3-4 times a year!
  15. 460....can't say enough good about the saw. ive used most saws out there and there'll always be a 460 in my line up now. i run a 25" bar on the 460, anything bigger i jump straight up to the 880. friend has a 660 and thats a great saw too. 460 is a nice saw for use in the tree.....the balance/weight is more comfortable to use from rope and harness than the husky equivelant...for me at least
  16. what type of friction hitch do you use eden?
  17. sorry, i too carry the ropeguide also on a quickdraw type krab
