  1. ok what do you all think is a reasonable time without leaving the judges with hours of footage to peruse
  2. i might re-think that 30second rule, perhaps we can just use it as a guideline
  3. but it wont fit the hitch climber unfortunately
  4. id highly recommend that no one uses that non locking revolver biner in this application
  5. norwich is better, about an hours drive from where said workshop would take place. we could possible arrange a climbing workshop too
  6. well depending what part of the country you want it to be i know the guy who owns haughley park, lots of mature trees over there
  7. i find myself wishing i had one of those some days....more often now im getting older!
  8. i believe nod from treeworker is in the process of organizing one. im sure it will be posted up here if theres any spaces, keep an eye out
  9. heres some things for you to ponder. some of it, being american written isnt applicable, perhaps we should get our heads together and revise it for the UK with butch's permission. http://gypoclimber.com/view.php?pg=groundman
  10. welcome david, johnathon, and brushcutter
  11. well there ya go. if you had 10 guys working for you over here chances are 8 of them wouldnt be able to drive the bloody thing!
  12. 750kg and a lorry would be anything over a 3.5t truck and now to make things even harder, you cant drive a 7.5 ton on a standard uk license. new drivers have to take extra tests now to drive over 3.5t and also to be able to tow anything
  13. beacuse if everyone was towing big chippers, everyone would want a big lorry and that just costs too much to run for your average small biz
  14. Welcome to our newest site sponsor Saturn machine knives
  15. well..based on the short time ive used it compared to the tree motion i'd say yes
  16. you make some good points jonnie, and you;re right...you cant compare machines which are not comparable. a better poll would have been greenmech vs timberwolf, jensen vs scheisling
  17. rupe used a similar set up but with a prussik, and a pulley above the prussik with the cord attached. the pulley would release the prussik
  18. thats pretty cool drew, thanks for sharing
  19. it IS a really comfy harness, i know a few people with them. its specially nice if you're the sort of climber who likes to hang around a little....ideal for the bigger built climber also. bit too bulky for my personal liking but undoubtedly one of the most comfy sit harness's on the market IMO
