  1. never done it myself so i cant comment too much on felling techniques, one thing i can say for sure though is you need to take your depth guages right down on your chains....you'll be able to cut much quicker and that should reduce the splitting.
  2. pidgeons are classed as pests i believe
  3. it sounds like the idle screw needs turning a little.....find where it is and turn it clockwise a touch, keep turning till it will tick over without cutting out. make sure you dont adjust the tuning screws by mistake. if you're stuck working out which one it is i'll have a lok on mine
  4. one of my customers has one, i'll ask him about it next week
  5. im not painting the ali.....just the metal parts of the buck and the bulkhead
  6. i just bought some anti rust primer made by International go try. is it worth using up the hammerite i already have for the top coat or will it be crap even for that? ive already done the posts and the colour is what im after see
  7. silver i just painted the back posts and the 2 side posts with hammerite as they were looking a bit shabby, but im thinking of spraying the whole back frame silver
  8. so to confirm, what paint would you actually use on top
  9. high zinc content...is that different to red oxide?
  10. im patching up my truck at the moment....not the cab, just the metal work on the tipping unit. last time i used hammerite, it didnt last as long as i hoped, could be either because of the abuse a tree truck takes....or i didnt apply enough coats......or the stuffs crap. what are your opinions on hammerite over red oxide followed by metal spray instead? obviously hammerites easier and quicker but is it worth spending the extra time with the oxide?
  11. I just noticed the UK ISA site has been updated...huge improvement, plus theres a nice link to arbtalk http://www.isa-arboriculture.org/content/home.htm

  15. apparently there should have been a crash in 2004, thats when the goverment stepped in and bought the interest rates lower
  16. interesting impartial view ed......theres normally 2 views with regards house prices....everyone who owns a house says the prices are going up, everyone who doesnt and wants the prices to go down say so accordingly.....fact is no estate agents or anyone associated with housing cant admit there will be a crash, second they do people stop buying and force the crash.
  17. i think there will be a big fall some poeple are talking as much as 50% the whole worlds economy seems screwed at the moment so i wouldnt be surprised
  18. what are your views on the housing market....people have been saying for years now that there will never be a crash and prices will only go up.....things arent looking that way at the moment some interesting info here http://www.housepricecrash.co.uk
