Good article.  If you believe in tolerance, you should start by tolerating those who don't.  Failure to do this is not only hypocrisy but it also undermines your cause.

 

Harassment is sufficient grounds for prosecution, the reasons for harassment shouldn't come into it.  I'm also uneasy with things such as "inciting racial hatred" being criminal in-and-of themselves.  Inciting actual criminal acts is one thing, but trying to persuade other people to come round to your way of thinking, however odious, should be every person's right.     

 

For some reason I'm reminded of my history teacher explaining how, following the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russia "became democratic and banned the Communist Party".  I got a detention for pointing out the contradiction.  He'd have caned me if he could.  He's dead now.

I'm sure Stubby had some wild times when he was younger but I would put a fiver on his never having invaded Poland.
