Pretty sure there is a guaranteed minimum income of about £150 per week for all pensioners.

 

About £120 I think, £155 is about the maximum you get if you have 35 years NI contributions. I have 33 so will be £9 short but I can buy two more years at £740 each to make it up so in 13 years I will have got my money back, bargain.

Yes but if you have no other income you will get benefits to top it up to £151.

Perhaps not a "darling of the masses," but here we see Lloyds banking group continuing its recovery and providing a (direct & indirect) dividend to the public purse:

Good results from lloyds today. Hope they keep it up, and the share price goes up.
