But for the new year, change up the 'making the news today' posts perhaps, something fresh, something interesting, something for the forum to talk about? Very much doubt you will be we can hope.

Billionaire entrepreneur Mark Cuban has taken a subtle yet sharp swipe at Tesla CEO Elon Musk over his call for more uplifting content on X, formerly known as Twitter. Musk, who owns the platform, tweeted on Sunday: “Please post a bit more positive, beautiful or informative content on this platform.”

In response, Cuban retorted with a succinct “You first,” leaving users chuckling at the pointed jab.

Rwanda.... so we accept asylum seekers from there as genuine claimants that the country is unsafe and on the other hand send them back saying "no, it is a safe country" or... paraphrase.... cheapest option.

I didn’t think we had many asylum seekers from Rwanda. There were some in 94 after the genocide, but generally the population are happy with the place. It’s the 6th safest place in the world and safest in Africa. Quite how people can say it’s not safe to send our illegal immigrants there is wrong.

That was from memory, and I can't remember the numbers - granted there aren't many, from what I remember they were for opposing the Rwandan government - speaking out against them and 'disappearances'. Personal opinion is that it is a very flawed policy, but if it appeases Farage then so be it. More concerning if your thing is immigration are the million flying in every year (economic migrants - the ones Government sanctioned to steal our jobs). However photos and videos of them leaving the airports looking like any British holiday maker doesn't make good news coverage for Farage, no money in that. Asylum seeker - often fleeing for their lives - are much easier targets.

And before you all go shouty (well, not all), standing on your little hill shouting "you shouldn't be here" is going to do nothing, if you want the system to change then you have to engage with the system. 500 posts here saying "there are migrants" has so far reduced that number by, errr 0.

But to change the subject... saw this last night and set me thinking, 2 men in the US froze to death searching for Big Foot. For all the high tech equipment trying to find a mystical being is done by crashing through the trees on foot (how about a plane with police style thermal imaging... could cover miles and miles an hour, pick up all unusual heat sources).

What do you reckon, big foot or no big foot? (I am going probably not)... and then for those who spend their working time in UK woods and forests.. what is out there in the UK that shouldn't be (thinking more big cats rather than Albanians of course!). Rumour is we have a European Lynx round this way, got the trail cam out to see what there is.

Officials started searching for the pair on Christmas after a relative reported them missing.

No one is angry or shouting regardless of how hard you push that worn out false narrative.
Your above comment undermines the whole argument you try to make,I asked a few days ago, which is the nearest war torn country they are fleeing?? And whilst on the subject how many peaceful safe countries have they crossed though before coming here ??. You’d have to be utterly deluded to not realise our system is being utterly abused for nothing other than purely economic reasons.
The Rwanda scheme was working before it was even operational in-as much as people were deterred from coming or were crossing into Southern Ireland just at the prospect of it, I presume you are aware of the former head of UK border force’s comment “ We will not stop the small boats unless we have an effective deterrent “ that’s not my words that’s the man who was in charge of the agency tasked with securing our borders. Labour and its human rights lawyer indoctrinated leader threw the baby out with the bath water in a fit of ideological stupidity. We now have zero deterrent and as every day passes people with an ounce of common sense are waking up to that.

Try putting your ludicrous bias and relentless digging away at my posts aside and use a bit of common sense.
In regards legal immigration I have been banging on about “ train our own people “ ever since Blair opened the doors years ago and destroyed the youth training/ apprenticeship culture, so yes mass immigration does not work long term in fact most studies are finding it a long term negative on our figures not a plus as is often stated.
Try the simple geography questions first eh 👍
