What about more of a move to nuclear power? It wouldn't hurt to use a bit of British innovation and keep most of the production and the jobs in the UK.

Rolls-Royce SMR Ltd have designed a factory built nuclear power plant that will offer...

Unless the Chinese have already bought out rolls royce like!

Forage and his bank woes? He is just a customer.....if the bank don't like him and cancel his account, he shouldn't moan, just get on with life and stop trying to get sympathy for being a racist bigot!

Banks cannot judge whether they want his business surely?

Cat got your tongue?

In what way is Farage a racist?

A few thousands of extra people in this country isn't the big issue though, got to look outside our own borders and wake up a little. In India there are about 1.4 billion people using half the electricity that we do, the same in Africa using about 1/50th of the electricity that we do. These 2.4 billion people will all want an electricity supply, to connect to the interwebs, to advance and live the lifestyle that we blast at them in the films and on the TV. 2.4 billion people. 1/3rd+ of the worlds population. and another 3rd will want more to equal our lifestyles (probably in the next 50 years to). Worldwide electricity supply is set to double. Worldwide where are we going to get the oil to do that from? cannot be done. So our choice is then turn off the cities at the weekends, rationing, or make electricity where we can. Green electricity.

Uncomfortable truth maybe.

When it comes to population rises, the UK has nothing.....however a comment on immigration when it comes to electricity, You might say "Stuff them let them live in their countries without electricity" but then 'the west' becomes a shining beacon attracting everyone like moths to a light bulb... because we tell them all the time how good our lifestyle is... they want some.... so no good saying that. To reduce immigration we need to reduce the push-pull factors that drive it, equalise things a bit (and not by current government methods of dragging us down, lift them up instead). If that means sharing worldwide resources then that has to happen.

we get a few thousand illegal a month never mind the others; you are quoting India and Africa they are much wealthier than the Uk, but their wealth is owned by a select few and not shared around.

One last comment on electriciy, India nad Africa are much wealthier than the uk... so who is going to win the bidding wars when the oil starts to run dry, and here we are arguing that the UK should have no alternatives..

Royal Navy experts have taught Ukrainian troops skills such as finding and neutralising explosives.

It's funny how things come full circle.....

Ukrainians fighting against Russia are being trained by the Royal Navy in Loch Ewe.

And Loch Ewe was used in ww2 as part of the Arctic Convoys, to help provide supplies to Russia

When did I say that I'm happy to have Chinese supplied renewables, Russian coal and oil from anywhere? I didn't, because I'm not. I don't think we should be consuming Chinese goods with the insatiable appetite that we have for the disposable crap either. By doing so we're driving their coal burning and all the other natural resources that they're plundering from Africa for example.
I believe we should be making our own renewable energy plant and infrastructure here in the UK. Why aren't we doing that? We're ideally placed with our scientific and engineering expertise, not to mention our heavy industry heritage. We're missing or maybe have already missed a golden opportunity here, this could be the ideal solution to the problem of that elusive economic growth that seems to be the holy grail of government at the moment. Instead they're flogging the dead horse that is the flagging Service and Consumer Economy. It's nonsense. We should be making stuff, that lasts, not endlessly consuming stuff.

The big push towards electric cars is bollocks. As if that's going to fix all the problems. Thanks, but I won't be buying one any time soon. I'll continue to drive my diesel van, sparingly, into the ground.

Regarding clean air zones. Obviously they've been poorly implemented, it should be done so in a far more intelligent and nuanced way, like all top down government policy, but the idea behind it is sound. On the other hand, it wouldn't do the average overweight person any harm to get out of their car and walk or cycle occasionally, kill two birds with one stone and all that.

You're very adept at evading questions, you should be a politician! I know you've a rabid dislike of the media, so let's set aside any media frenzy, perceived or otherwise for now. Have you not noticed that the weather, climate even, is changing, there's an awful lot less insects around than there used to be etc etc? Lots of things like that. Or is it all just a big lie from scientists?

Since you're back in full-on zealot mode here's some Moonbatery for you. It'll be a good resource, you'll like it, lots of "common sense". Real science don't you know;

The main point for me 42 is you made an absolute fool of yourself throughout the last media driven farce yet still try to throw in smart arse comments. You were vehemently against everything I stood for during that period and have been proven to be wrong in every way yet now you are an expert on midge numbers and global climate patterns, I don’t avoid anything that’s valid but genuinely won’t even bother  to answer multiple  vague questions “ an absolute well worn tactic of yours” created from behind your curtains using scenarios based upon the latest round of msm crisis stories. There’s a nice little bit of real world info for you, that’s from the windy north too
ps

just for your interest

It’s cold and damp and has pissed down for the last week back home according to the mrs, my place is lifting with wildlife including a multitude of different insect types.

I agree in principle but Hinckley for example will prove to be a huge cash cow for who !!! EDF 🤷‍♂️

Massive change is needed in the UK from the top down and sadly I don’t think we will ever see it.
