If you're promising to spend billions of pounds to improve your popularity at the polls, wouldn't it be prudent to have the figures to hand. It's not like just a few hundred quid, it's a major financial commitment.

I guess it isn't quite so important to folk when it's not your own money.

At least the figures exist, unlike the Conservative manifesto. As for courting popularity, what would you call the U-turn on the dementia tax which Amber Rudd still would not put a figure on? :001_smile:

The Government already spends £46 billion a year on interest on UK debt. Do you think it sensible for Labour to increase this amount further?

Define falling?

The gap may have changed slightly, but there is no way that the people of our country will hand the reins to a former IRA supporter that has no real support from his own party, thinks that money grows on trees and will get us crucified in Europe! He has no desire to control immigration which was ultimately why the majority of the public voted for Brexit in the first instance!

There are two groups of people in this country when it comes to money - givers and takers! The Labour party supports and relies on the takers for votes. Unfortunately though, if we continue to support takers, they will become the majority and that is when we will be in a world of shite, as the givers will all leave and there will be nobody left to take from! The Conservatives restrict the takers which is clearly upsetting to the 'great unwashed', even to the point where some of them have found it now more financially viable to go and get a job! Guess what? Unemployment levels have fallen and there are less people on the take. Benefits are essential to support those that really need them, but it should not become a lifestyle choice as Labour would intend. Many immigrants are essential to the future of our country, and they should be made most welcome. Sadly though, a huge amount are here as we are a 'cash cow' with free housing and health care. It is they that are crippling our NHS and schools and housing market. How many Brits found the urge to migrate to Romania to benefit from their healthcare and job seakers allowance whilst pickpocketing on the local underground? Less than one!!!!

Great Britain is no longer Great and currently has no spine. It's time we became Great again and there is only one party that is even close to being able to achieve that. It is NOT Labour!!

Due to the Government's significant budget deficit, the national debt is increasing by approximately £73.5 billion per annum, or around £1.4 billion each week.[2] The Conservatives pledged in 2010 that they would eliminate the deficit by the 2015-16 financial year.[3] However, by 2014 they admitted that the structural deficit would not be eliminated until the financial year 2017/18.[4] This forecast was pushed back to 2018/19 in March 2015, and to 2019/20 in July 2015,[5] before the target of a return to surplus at any particular time was finally abandoned by the then Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne in July 2016.[6]

I remember when we all wanted change where sick of the Torys, fox hunting the criminal justice act and Tory scandals and voted labour in last time it was refreshing for about 5 minutes before Tony the tit started a war on a nation that had never been beaten not even by the British empire and Russians at there heights of power and that would start a chain of events that where obvious from the beginning doomed, Cool Britannia turned in to fool Britannia ..I won't list the catalog of disasters that followed as I think we are all aware but this is main reason is for me never again!! I started a business up in the last 5 years of there reign and it was stagnant to failing ,so in that respect I would never vote labour again I don't think any one who was self employed who wants to see there business grow would either ?? I genuinely admire Corbin, I am not sure he would go back to his roots and be trusted though ... I think if he was elected there would be a military coup anyway.

People really aught educate themselves, no matter who's in power recessions come and go. its a business cycle rolling along on a world wide scale..

To blame Labour or the Tories is just blaming the symptoms of global slowdowns on something they can't control..

I see the early signs of a recession creeping up on us as we speak, house price stagnation being a first sign..

Perhaps our Teresa called the election partly to get elected before the sht hits the fan?..

Matty, I could see the signs of a global meltdown years before it took place, If I was in your shoes I'd of based my business model on one that would survive a recession..

Instead of blaming Labour, I'd take a look at were you went wrong..

Old news eggs... is it relevant after his trident u turn though?? Probably not

I think his u turn on trident and seemingly to drop his complete pacifist stance as it was upsetting a few folk in the MOD could of been down to the above ..so it probably would not happen hey? Unless he does a u turn again.
