What good does it do if you end up like Greece and you have sanctions and your line of credit threatened to be cut off. At some point you need to make a profit. I'd like to see the trend continue so the country turn a profit so our kids can have a country to be pround of Screenshot_20170530-145854.jpg.e3d8e64028e0532b4c623d5f5d2b779c.jpg

Will still subsidise the railways and they make a profit!

Virgin recieved £2.7 Billion in subsidies and still took home a £550m profit. We actually pay 6 times what we did when the railways were nationalised.

Madness isn't it. We also subsidise Pakistan and they've got their own space program! Live to your means is how I operate. I run a 13 yr old chipper and 15 yr old transit. Debt doesn't do any good but make you look flashy and adds stress. I think it's a bad idea on any scale where avoidable

Is it the Chinese state that pays the tariffs? Or the exporting company...

The UK has a trade deficit with the EU. If we start tariffs on each other it means the UK benefits...

I think it's the Indian government that imposes the tariffs... ie it's the Indian Government that collects the tariffs...

No it's the UE that enforces and collect the tariffs.

That's why once we are out the EU other countries will be keen to trade with us.

Aye, but puting money into something that will provide security for some time, has to be better than making swathing cuts to public services and to the sick, old and disabled.

It's better to put your money into buying a house instead of renting perpetually.

I think you do talk some sense but this is bonkers.

If I spend too much and then can't pay my mortgage for example soon I will be homeless.

Spending billions when we have not paid for the last lot of billions that labour spent would be beyond stupid.

Aye, but the current government has tripled the deficit. Austerity isn't working as billed.

They they borrowed even more and spent even more it wouldn't have tripled it would have gone up way more?? It's simple maths. I don't get how consistent borrowing more than you earn can be a good idea??
