So how much do the Chinese give to the EU for being able to sell goods in the EU?

The UK could leave the EU and we'd still be able to sell goods there...

Do you really think we have the economic clout of the Chinese?

Ha.

tbh, I'm never really sure if you're just trolling me.

Peru has a Free Trade Deal with the EU. I think we can all agree that the UK ha more "economic clout" than Peru... Peru never paid anything for this privilege...

Ha ha trolling. Why didn't you use Peru as an example in the first place?

Unlike Peru, the UK's main trading partner is the EU.

China pays a good deal to the EU in tariffs.

India is forced to pay 100% tariff to the EU on all Scotts whisky they buy.

Is it the Chinese state that pays the tariffs? Or the exporting company...

The UK has a trade deficit with the EU. If we start tariffs on each other it means the UK benefits...

I think it's the Indian government that imposes the tariffs... ie it's the Indian Government that collects the tariffs...

Anyone else here Corbyn on Woman's hour? Oh dear what a shambles.

Why are labour offering free childcare to all?

Why should the taxpayer look after the children of yummy mummy's while they go off and shop?

I don't know. In a prosperous society there'd be enough funds to support it.

I did hear today that they've worked out that means testing of winter fuel payments for pensioners in Scotland, would actually cost more money to implement than providing payments to all currently does. Red tape costs alot.

I don't get why people are lapping up all the 'free' stuff labour are promising whilst I keep seeing comments about how the torys have seen the UK go further into debt. Don't people know there's no such thing as free, you're paying for it in your taxes! If labour had spent like they are saying they're about to the national debt would be much worse.

If you ran a business by continuing to borrow money to give your staff lots of benefits you'd go bust in no time

Aye, but puting money into something that will provide security for some time, has to be better than making swathing cuts to public services and to the sick, old and disabled.

It's better to put your money into buying a house instead of renting perpetually.
