What are the chances of everyone and his dog desperately needing fuel today?

Not really a case of that is it. I have half a tank in my truck. If I knew I was going to be travelling I’d probably have queued up with everyone else today just so I knew I had a full tank. As it is I don’t HAVE to travel, and have already told the missus we won’t be going anywhere further than a few miles away this weekend for whatever weekend activity we choose to do.

Not everyone has that choice though

Is that muddled, or am I reading it wrong? You don't have to travel so you haven't filled up. If everyone in a similar situation to you did the same there wouldn't be panic buying.

Not muddled, you just don’t understand what I’m saying. Read it again, and then again if you still don’t understand

I took your advice, unfortunately it's not hitting home. You can do without fuel for now so  you haven't filled up, many need fuel, they are struggling to get it because the half tankers who don't really need are topping up. Or have I got this all wrong?

Pathetic if they fold on this, skilled labour ffs !!! can we not even train up some truck drivers 🤷‍♂️. RHA with a bit of media assistance get access to cheap labour from the EU. No hope unless this country starts to invest in its people for the long haul.

Maybe the whole thing is deliberate, BP want cheap drivers so they shut a few petrol pumps and let the news get out "don't panic", half the country panic buys, and BP get their eastern european workers?

This!
Possibly BP, possibly the RHA, possibly linked to some form of opposition politics - basically it’s a load of spin to achieve a goal, and Joe-public have swallowed it hook, line and sinker.
