According to the news there are going to be hundreds more Police on the streets of London to try and deal with the ever increasing knife crime. Now, "we've" been cutting the number of police officers by the thousands, so where are all these extra coppers coming from, are they being drafted in from others forces, or will it be London coppers being paid overtime to work when they should be off duty, or have "we" just magicked hundreds of coppers from fresh air?

It's a really depressing situation. Youth services have no resources, the allure of riches is very real. There aren't anywhere near enough police. I don't know how it's easily rectifiable, it'll take years to change the status quo. I reckon that it's doable given the right investment.

Apparently Piers Morgan tore Sadiq Khan a new one over it on TV this morning.

Brilliant idea! What and cause another riot like Brixton in the early 80's? Do you ever think things through before you come up with these bright ideas?

Good if that's the case. The youthworkers were paramount in preventing a serious kick off last time things looked as promising as they do around now. Now there's next to no services.

I'm not doubting it works but most of this knife crime is black on black, so the police will be stopping more black youths. That will, as we've seen before cause tension, that leads to people taking to the streets en masse. Don't you think the government/police would be stopping and searching more people if they thought they could do it without causing more problems?
