Victims of classic Tory arrogance; once again (and I'm looking back decades - think late Thatcher era) they assumed votes.  Serves 'em right but don't hold your breath for a sea change in British politics because of it

I agree, nowt' will change off the back of this result. It's not an area I'm familiar with, folk on the wireless today seemed to think a lot of it was to do with HS2.

Yes but also it seems the locals feel ignored by the Tories - who assumed their votes!  The SDP got out there and knocked on doors; Ed Davey visited the constituency 15 times during canvassing!

Decent result for the Scots, absolute failure for the English.

I’m quite happy.

Spoken like a true Jock 😂I thought it was a 0-0

draw !!.
Football bores the tits off me Mull, now watching  England get humped by Scotland at the rugby 🙄that’s painful.

How is it a decent result? You’re bottom of the group, haven’t scored a goal, you have to beat Croatia and hope that results go your way in the other matches.

Is just not being beaten by the English enough to make you happy?

To be fair Mick - speaking as an Englishman I'd be happy just not being beaten by the French.  Or Germans.  Or Belgians... 😄

The Tories took a kicking in Chesham and Amersham. Shame.

I’d suggest the result of this by election speaks more of the desperate state of the Labour Party than it does the Tories.

Labour behind even the Greens and a lost deposit.

Yes, a kick in the nuts for the Tories, but another nail in the coffin for Captain Hindsight.
